Great to see an update! Guess I can give this another run while trying to endure the wait for the sequel's translation.

Cool it was time for a Hack like this. I like both title screens. The US/PAL one just sucks.
Just one thing. The Dollar Sign... Goemon uses Ryo :)

How is the sram supposed to work? I'm playing on the SNES mini and either it doesn't work there or I'm just to dumb to figure out how to use it. And it seems I can't use passwords either. (might be removed?)
Otherwise this patch is great and the best way to use this game together with the new translations of Geomon 2 and 3.

EDIT: Yes I'm dumb. There are places where I can make diary entries which act as a save.
But the game gives passwords at the Game Over screen anyway. Is this a leftover of the original system or are they also usable?

Great work with this! I spent some time playing the hack today along with the new translations of 2 and 3. It feels so good to have them all in great shape now.

Just a couple things I came across so far that I wanted to ask about or point out as feedback. I haven't played the original localization too much and some of these issues may be with that version but hey, I figure this is the perfect opportunity to address them.

1. You mentioned being french and the possibility of issues with the English. Overall what I read was really good. The only thing that jumped out at me so far is that you have "sushis" on the menu when in English we use the word "sushi" for both singular and plural. All my french speaking friends say sushis in English so I know this is a common thing but it probably should be changed.

2. With the dice mini game in the first town, you have the text say "less than 10 is low", "greater than 11 is high". But with that phrasing, 10 wouldn't count as low and 11 wouldn't count as high. I've tested it and confirmed that betting high and getting 11 is a win for instance. It should be changed to something like "10 or lower is low", "11 or greater is high". That verbiage would include both numbers.

3. The line when you travel to the second island "When something's wrong with Edo, action must be taken" sounds awkward. "Something's wrong with Edo and action must be taken" is perhaps what you were going for?

4. When training for the jutsus, the trainer has you doing push-ups while saying "fight fight!" repeatedly. Doesn't make sense. Maybe something like "harder, harder!"? If you need a quality Japanese translation I could get you one.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I fixed everything you told me but I won't release a new patch right now I'm sure some other thing could be improved.

Wonderful! Great to hear you are so responsive. That means I'm going to play through the entire game *very* thoroughly now. haha.

I recall someone saying that the striptease event was completely erased from the localized rom, so I fear that the only way to go would be retranslating the first Goemon from scratch using the Japanese rom as a base (which was planned but, due to the recent events we all know, I highly doubt it will be done now).

DDS has Tom's completed translation for Goemon 1, and the project is still on schedule. Not sure whether he'll use the Japanese rom but i'm guessing not.

Masaru

I found two issues in the hack

1.Text formatting issues in the arcade zone from the second area of the game

2.At the end of the second area cutscene, "Otafu" is spelled "Otaku"

Thanks but all theses typo are already fixed.

@FlashPV

FYI, I just wanted to provide a quick status update. My process of combing through the game for suggested fixes is over half way done but still has a way to go. I have over 20 noted items so far. Biggest area that needs improvement seems to be getting all the food in the stores labeled correctly. My general project partner / translator / best buddy nejimakipiyo is going through the Japanese rom while I go through your hack checking various things. The main thing holding this up is that I'm simply not the greatest at action games. RPG guy through and through.  This is also my first time playing a Goemon game and I'll be damned if I haven't fallen in love with it totally. Hope to have this to you within a week or so.

Left: Han (半) = Odd; Middle: Kake (賭け) = Bet Right: Chou (丁) = Even
