Hello, just wanted to say I'm loving the hack, just finished beating the game with the default settings and had a blast. Now I'm updating settings to my likings and had some suggestions. The 2X HP on enemy's seems a bit high at times, was wondering if we could add a setting for 1.5 through the configs. I think that would be a nice balance especially for new comers to the turbo. Maybe a setting for running to be a bit slower like in trials. Wouldn't change or affect the game but a nice option to have. The setting for enemy's attack more frequently is nice but for monsters using range it can get a bit hard, maybe keep the setting but add in an option to remove that extra frame of attacking for just range enemy's. Those changes would perfect this game for me. Even if it's not done I appreciate everything and all the work that's been put into this.

Edited*** also for the hot key quick spells, I think an option to hot key items for randi would be beneficial too, you can do it for the pattern style input, but not for the option to hotkey 4 items with the Dpad

Edited again***
So I wanted to recommend some changes from the default settings for people who are new to SoM turbo or felt the default difficulty was a bit much. Some minor changes to help; change the setting for enemys hit more, toggle this off so enemys using range attacks don't spam you to death lol. Change the setting for gigas fire boss to not have the flame saber spell, due to not being able to hit him with flame sabers and being the first boss that you're able to use magic on, if you happen to run out you'll be unable to defeat him due to just flame saber alone. Under Adavances, I recommend keeping bosses Hp the same at 2X but changing enemy's Hp to 1X so you're not just spamming attack for over a minute to kill a few enemy's. For balancing change XP from bosses and enemy's to 1 and GP received to 1X this way you still get a challenge and last ones to balance out the 1X XP, make weapons XP gain to C (it's calc from A-E) and magic XP to E. for me these changes really help the spamming of enemy's but still keeping a balance to difficulty

Version 2023-08-22:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1VGhE7w7azPBA6NQX3OTHfg4fIfy1YGPZ

Changes:
- updated Reborn to v1.12 (or maybe this is 1.13 with 1.12 being an unreleased version? I dunno)

That is literally the only change, but I haven't done heavy testing to make sure I didn't break anything. It's been some time since I last worked on this. I left the previous version in that Google Drive folder, so make sure you grab the newer one with the correct date.

I like that!!

Wooo!  Okay, I'll try it soon.  I still wish you can somehow fix the magic recharge problem I mentioned before -- "fireball" animation magics recharges twice, hence making those spells overwhelmingly longer to recharge.

Hi!
First of all thank you for this amazing compilation of hacks and for your original work, and for making it accessible and easily installable like this! Much appreciated.

Also it is cool to see you keep updating it over time!

I have a quick question. For the Faster Spell Grinding, it seems like you omitted the fastest tier (32%). Is there a particular reason for that, and would you maybe consider implementing it into the installer?

Thank you!

I see I'm not the only one who experienced this nightmare battle. While sabered, the Gigas would then hit us with that fire disc spell. No more candy, chocolate, or magic for healing or to counter with Ice Saber. It took many tries before I got lucky with a battle where he didn't spam Flame Saber. I then realized you could turn it off. Would probably rather he use his more powerful flame spell or at least only cast Flame Saber on one party member instead of all.

This. Those Chobin Hood things got super mega ultra rapid fire on those arrows. They'll hose you down with pointy sticks by the time you can even reach them. Kinda entertaining, though, so I am willing to deal with it so long as I can get in a few multi-target attack spells.

Great to see progress still being made!

As much as I've always loved this game going back to the vanilla game is just impossible

I'll mention that since this release, the script has already been revised slightly. We're taking any feedback we can get from this release, and then will release a final V1.12. Think of the current script release as V1.11.1.

Cool, any specific part that stands out in the upcoming release?

Can't really think of anything to change in the current version, I liked the new Luka dialogue which seemed more fitting for her character.

It may take some time for me to check out the new version.  I'm currently working on a project (Custom Robo GX for GBA), and since there's no one else that's working on it, it's taking a long time.

The significant changes were mentioned in my previous post. Most stuff is minor---a small revision here and there to improve the flow of things.

In the case of Luka, there was some feedback that the style of her dialogue wasn't consistent and hopefully we got that squared away.

We'll probably have another test release shortly.

I don't understand how to set spell hotkeys. I'm doing what the instructions say and it's not working. Also why do the spells not go off half the time? The character just stands there and does nothing.

Also please nerf Vampire. The fight in the Turbo version is the most unfair thing I've seen in my life.

There's something wrong with the audio in this when playing in Retroarch / Snes9X core - even with the entire Audio section of the patch unchecked. It's choppy and wrong. Does anyone know why?

I have not experienced any issues with audio. I'm playing on real hardware(Everdrive) and the actual SNES9X for Windows. Just gave it a go with ZSNES as well and no issues.

Maybe a ROM or patching problem?

Hmm strange, I'll try some other things. The Rom is Secret of Mana (U) [!].smc

OK it works fine with the bSnes core in Retroarch. I do have 2 other questions:

- what do I do with the MSU music pack? Does it need to be named a certain way for the emulator to load it? Currently I can hear it's using the normal music.

- are there are cheats in this pack? I don't imagine existing AR / GG codes will work.

EDIT: works in Snes9X core too - just needed to turn off overclocking!

Yes, the naming convention is important. You need to read more on the site you got the PCM files from.

Most existing cheats will work, not all. You'll have to employ a bit of trial & error testing.

Ah, that could be part of the problem.
