Super Mario World NES Improvement patch issue
« on: December 17, 2018, 10:26:55 am »
So I tried adding the improvement patch to what I figure is a clean copy of the Super Mario World NES rom, and was treated to a grey screen. The game would run, just without any visualizations. If I selected a level, the graphics with reappear with this rainbow strobe effect and would not proceed beyond that. So, why is this happening? Could the rom be pre-patched with the physics patch and the two patches be incompatible with each other?

I know there are two versions of the bootleg out there.
One which is thought to be a demo/beta version (contains one world) and the other which is thought to be the full game (all worlds).
Though it's really hard to say when this is a bootleg game we're talking about, but the point stands there are two versions regardless.

I found the full rom and the patches worked like charm. Thanks.
