Sprite inserting issue with gba rom

Hello all,
I've been trying my hand at inserting sprites into gba roms (in this case, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow). I wanted to start off simple, so I downloaded ifranview and yychrr (tile molester won't work on my pc). I am able to copy a few frames into yychrr, but they seem to be using different palettes and I don't know why or how to fix it. I've been using a hex editor and Advanced Palette Editor, so I know the location of the palette, but I don't know why they are being treated as separate objects. I can't seem to import a palette in infranview either. Any tips would be appreciated.
