I played through the first stage side by side with the japanese version, and gameplay-wise
I haven't noticed anything unusual.

However, I noticed a difference in one of the cutscenes, in the beginning Zero
attacks some mooks with the saber and the blood effect was missing.
I remember there being one more cutscene near the end of the game with the "blood splatter" effect, so I'll
see if that cutscene is also missing the blood as well.

Same here, I tested it and everything is working great. Excellent job on restoring the blood & the vocal tracks back to both the American & the European versions of MMZ4.

Thanks for doing this, now all the MMZ games are uncensored.

A wonderful hack, thanks so much, I can play the real Megaman Zero 4 now.

I also know that, in the ost of the game, there are some added dialogues for certain scenes.

Some people made arranged videos, like this one (spoilers: it's the final boss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETVPH0qDKLY )

I don't if that kind of hack is also possible.

Didn't.. know something like that could exist. Guess I could take a peek sometime but I know nothing about the dialog engine.


Ported some blood changes over to Rockman Zero 4 (minor repositioning, rbcannon blood) for completion. Doesn't need testing.

Okay. I'm sure I know what erecyog mentions about other missing blood cutscene. Mid-ending battle. Have to look into that too.

Based on some tinkering with the scripting language, I actually think it's insertable. Just need to remap the whole text bank to another section. Will post test sometime later.

Finally finished the game. From start to finish, I found no problems.
It was great to see even the japanese version improved a bit.
Like everyone said before, this is a fantastic hack, thanks for making it.

Okay. I'm sure I know what erecyog mentions about other missing blood cutscene. Mid-ending battle. Have to look into that too.

You beat me to it, lol. That was the cutscene I was going to check, but as of the latest patch it's been restored already.

Cutscene dialog can be extended to an extent. Usa tester only.

Short writeup: when we change portraits [F304]=Zero_TL, [F367]=Weil_Gold_TR, it allows us to insert new text without any fuss.


Thanks everyone. I'll start packaging everything into one submission. I guess I'll combine the blood and vocal files together, and tell everyone that they can visit the github page for separate patches.

Since there's no findable translations available for rest of mmz4 ost, this dialog extension idea will not be continued.

Due to multiple requests, USA logo is now ported for Europe. Animation and all.

All 3 regions should now have parity.

I'm curious why people insist on playing the EUR version though. Isn't the GBA region free? And it's not like this game has extra language options.
You might as well make an IPS that turns the base EUR version into the hacked USA version and no one would notice it's not the EUR version anymore.

Summary of Europe reasons requested:
- (near-)completed translations created for that rom
- physical cartridge owners
- phantom extra bugfixes that might not exist
- tcrf scholars
- gamers who refuse to play USA except when required

MMZ3 USA has a timing error not present in Japan or Europe. Brief layering mistake. So small bugfix patch.

Also asked by a few if I could provide some blood touchups for RMZ 1-3 like I did for #4. And port blood for MMZ 2-3 Europe. Plus Mega Man Zero Collection.

Complete non-committal for the GBA titles. It was tiring enough doing it for MMZ4.


Undecided for now when/if to post Mega Man Zero 3 - Europe logo patch to site. With bonus USA bugfix included.

This makes me unbelievably happy. Now the series is complete! :laugh:

With this out now, I wonder if there is any chance on having the same treatment offered for the DS Zero Collection? Not that it really matters with the originals already having been taken care of.

This is amazint work, thank you so much.

I know there are some dubbed scenes in the ost of the game, especially the end scenes, but I think it's out of reach to input it in the game dialogues.

Let's hope now Megaman Zero 5 will come out someday :) ! The ending of MMZ4 is way too sad :'( ...

I think only the last boss dialogues are DEMANDING to be dubbed.

That last ZEROOOOOOOOOOO!!!! from Ciel is heartwrenching.
