Ice Climbers Evil Nana

So, this is the first hack I've ever done. It's a variation on Ice Climbers for NES.
Did you know they're named Popo and Nana? 

- Player 2 can kill Player 1
- 2X Speed
- Snow monsters can't kill you
- Controllable jumps
- Starting with 6 lives
- Altered text
- Skipped intro

It's perfectly playable but there are thing's I'd like to improve:

TO DO LIST:
- Change title so it says Evil Nana
- 6 lives actually show instead of 3
- Player 1 start with 6 lives
- Player 2 start with 2 lives
- Player 1 move fast
- Player 2 move slow

I don't know how to do this.  :banghead:

I gave it a try and it does feel a lot less sluggish than the original game. I always hated those weird-ass jumping physics, and even the visuals are weird and cartoonish. The faster movements are better, in my opinion, but the sudden change in speed in mid-air causes a lot of crazy stunt jumps, and therefore, lots of mistakes.

I think you have already done the lion's share of the work, with all these variable tweaks. Did you do ASM coding? Changing starting lives is just a matter of finding the corresponding variables, and maybe a little bit of ASM to have different starting lives for each player. As for speed, again, there are probably some variables that control the X and Y velocities. Having different velocities for each player may be more challenging. Do you know if the ROM has unused space?

Do you know if the ROM has unused space?
It's a 16KB PRG-ROM so it can probably be expanded to 32KB by simply adding 16KB (0x4000 bytes) to the beginning (and updating the header).

To tell you the truth I scanned the internet for alternative Game Genie codes and found these:

OPXIVXSU - floating bricks
IEXKTGLA  - Start with 6 lives
SNSKXUNN+LESKULPA - Players move at 3X normal speed
SNSKXUNN+ZESKULPA - Players move at 2X normal speed
ELKITLEY - Monsters bump you instead of killing you
GPUKOAZX: Super jumping power
GKUITZXZ+TKUIYZPZ+KSUSAZSZ red push blue
SNSKXUNN+ZESKULPA - double speed
AAVKEVZZ+AANIZSZP - controllable jump
PEXGIGIA - skip intro

GKUITZXX+TKUIYZPA+KSUSAZSZ: One player can kill the other
USEKYETO - Game Boy Version

So I used the Game Genie Guy Utility to encode these codes into the Ice Climber rom

Mmm. Cookies. :) I still haven't got a clue how to give the players different speed. I really think that would change thing's up. Now Nana is simply too powerful.
