SMB Title Screen Hex Editing Help

I've managed to hex edit the title screen up to this point:

but I need to make it like this (this is just a mockup):

I already have the tiles in the game and know where I want them to be. I just can't seem to get them on the title screen. How do I go about doing this?

Hex editing the title screen is difficult due to the data there being compressed at the end of the file. Use this SMB title screen tool instead.

ste - e.txt for how to use it. Removing the blank coloured tiles between "Player game" may save a bit of space for the extra two characters.

It's actually 3 tiles. I've already tried using title screen editors and they don't work. I just need an explanation of how to add a row of three tiles to the title screen via hex editing.

Anti-viruses may detect it as a false positive. You'll need the saved title data from STE.exe (from the second button) so it can insert it in. As the tools detects, beware that some graphical data (starting from the last non-data CHR-ROM tiles) may be turned into title screen compressed data, and so can no longer be used, depending on how complex the title screen arrangement is.

the hex code for three tiles would be something similar to

2X YZ 03 AA BB CC

Where X YZ sets the location of the tile and AA BB CC are the tile numbers.  Maybe for example it would be

21 40 03 50 51 52

It's don't work at all. I recommend SMB Title Editor utility for this, but remember - it's turn title to green after saving changes.

That's Mana's title editor you're talking about. I'm been using it many times and so far not a single problem I couldn't work out are present. What were the steps you took, exactly?
