So you say this is the place of no-care hackers, quite the opposite of other sides ?
That would be huge minus for Romhacking, elsewhere great progress has been made, it's even integrated in sfrom tool.
But it's your statement.

The patches in SFROM Tool are the same patches sluffy made. No one has made any new relevant patches since sluffy left, and no one with the knowledge cares about making patches for Canoe.

I understand English is not your first language, but whatever you implied I said, you are wrong.

You can use NSRT to remove the header from the translated rom
http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/400/

Hello, do you have a guide to use this please? Thanks

This patch gives me a C7 error on the SNES Mini for Harvest Moon. Any ideas why?

just tested with the 1.3 patch w/ fixes and it boots up, I'm just not sure what's causing issues in 2.0.

Patch this on top of the 2.0 patched rom

It boots up fine now! Thank you so much

There's an old version of this Chrono Trigger patch that ran natively on Canoe, but it hasn't been updated for the new patches. Is there any way to fix this for the most recent updates?

Patch this ...

Hello Bosco82  :woot!:
You are doing a really great job here with canoe.
This patch works for SNES Online, too.
Just out of interest: What has been fixed here, why does the patch break the compatibility ?
Importing the normal patched rom in sfrom tool shows bad rom infos, after fixing all looks fine.

Is there any chance to get patches or tips/hints for some SNES Online problem cases which I listed in reply #3063 ?
SNES Online and SNESmini emus are near to the same but not 100%.
Oddly enough some roms cause problems that doesn't with canoe and vice versa.
Like Sonic Blast Man 1+2 which run fine on canoe but are causing problems with SNES Online.
Would be really awesome.

I tried adding Lufia II to the SNES Mini using this patch, but I received an error message.. not sure what's wrong?

For that patch you have to add a rom header, then you have to remove the header to use on the mini

Oops, I totally forgot to remove the header! Thanks for the help  :D

I'm having trouble getting these other patches to work, any ideas?

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3272/ (on top of retranslation https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1384/)

I'm also having trouble with Clock Tower's English patch. It was working for me fine before, but after removing it for the other patch, re-adding it gives me an error message saying that it won't work with the default emulator.

-Crystal Beans hack looks like patch the addendum patch then the expand patch than any others. Roms have to be correct sizes or else the mini doesn't read the internal header correctly.

-Breath of Fire 2 make sure you follow the directions in the readme. You need to run the retranslation first, so either run it than replace the rom or make sure to back up the sram file so it can be used for the patched rom.

-Clock Tower - the patch they give to be patched over the english translation needs the rom to be headered, so add a header if needed then use the patch and then remove the header.

Clock Tower gave me an error message when adding, saying it might not work correctly, but it still works... weird!

Thanks for the help :) The only game I couldn't get to work was BOFII. How would I go about keeping the SRAM file when I replace the ROM?

Make a sfrom of the patched rom, in hakchi you can uncompress the original rom after running it. Then go to the folder on your pc that the file is in and replace it with the new one and use hakchi to recompress the rom and reupload it to the system.

Hey, I'm running Secret of Mana Relocalized (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4324/) and I saw on the Preset ID list its ID is 0x10B0. After changing it to this from 0x1016, I'm getting a C7 error. Any ideas why this is the case?

That might have been the original intent, but we, the ones that have been here for years and following this thread since the start, we know this is a Canoe thread.
Incorrect. This thread is for ANY emulator that is intended to run on the SNES Classic Mini, as stated in the OP. That is the purpose and such shall continue.

To all users having issues with hacks and translations on the SNES Mini, rather than patching the rom, it might be easier to simply use the SNES9x core installed with Hakchi as the compatibility is identical to the Windows & Linux versions of SNES9x.

Why only for SNES mini, that's neither evident from the topicname nor post #1?
Otherwise the threadname should be SNES emus for SNES Classic Mini (...).
I ask for help for the canoe-like emu running on Switch via the official app called SNES Online.
It's 99,8% the same canoe emu like SNES mini canoe, but I ask for the other 0,2% which differ.

It is directly implied. Let's not split hairs.

I agree to both points, I just like Canoe :P If there's a solution to issues with Canoe, I'd like to try for those first--so far, my Mini is a Canoe-only machine.

The Secret of Mana preset works with a Virtual Console patch on top of a original rom to work, Relocalized expands the rom so I doubt that patch would work in the correct spot to allow it to work with that preset.

it looks like byuu's Bahamut Lagoon patch isn't going to work with Canoe. he does mention that the final patch will be a 48mbit ExHiROM image, same as Tales of Phantasia, and the community did get that game to work... does that mean there's hope?  :o

I wasn't able to get this patch to work with A Link to the Past. Is there any way to fix this?
