Wanted to fill in a couple of blanks I haven't seen referred to previously:

- Hakchi2 defaults Home Alone (US) to Retroarch, but canoe works fine with preset 0x109C

- John Madden Football and John Madden Football '93 exhibit a flickering line at the bottom of the play selection screen, unknown if this occurs on actual hardware

- Super Bases Loaded (US) does not display the overlay graphic for bases

- Super Bases Loaded 3 (US) uses a hires font that does not display properly in canoe

Is it possible to fix Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy war, using this English Translation? It uses ExHiRom mapping.

https://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?/topic/63676-fe4-translation-patch-open-beta-v7/

Is it possible to get Canoe to play nice with ExHiRom format?

Same deal with Fire Emblem 5 with this translation
https://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?/topic/80126-fe5-unified-thracia-prototype-menu-and-script-translation-through-ch-3/

The end result is 8MB, it actually boots up and plays the intro, unlike FE4. But the title screen is garbled and doesn't go any further.

UNless slufy comes back and fixes it, you'll have to use Retroarch.

Anybody got a reupload of Sluffy's Yoshi's Island Touch Fuzzy patch? I know it didn't completely fix it but it is an improvement and the original link is dead.

Wanting to try to get games generated here: https://smalttp.speedga.me/randomizer working on Canoe.

These are combined games and using 64Mbit ExHiROM format...

Anything like the S-DD1 patch or anything that might work for them?

Use Retroarch.

RetroArch on SNESC has too much input lag, that's the main reason to use Canoe, among several other reasons.

The lag is imperceptible, it's all in your head.

No, sadly not.

Have you tried the runahead feature that was added in RA 1.7.2? That had solved the very perceptible lag in several games for me.

I speed run these games, I can easily identify when there is input lag.  Thanks.

No, sadly not.
Have you tried the runahead feature that was added in RA 1.7.2? That had solved the very perceptible lag in several games for me.

Unless 1.7.2 is better at it than 1.7.3a, the run ahead feature causes lag where the game won't run at the full 60fps.  The SNESC hardware isn't powerful enough to keep up with it from what I can tell.

I also noticed some strange "ghosting" effects when it's enabled, for lack of better term, when I used this feature on my computer.  Which, for reference, is an 8700K with a GTX980Ti, so plenty of power.

Seems like some strange thing that it's processing a frame that you're not actually supposed to see because of the run ahead and ends up displaying both the wrong frame and the correct frame.

Again, I notice these types of things more than "most" people do, as I speed run these games.  I like the idea and if it worked perfectly, it would be great, but the tiny microstutters or ghosting can be the difference in making a jump or performing a trick properly, which can cost a lot of time sometimes, so it just doesn't work for my purpose.

OFFTOPIC

Anyone has a NES Mini running on kachikachi, the stock emulator? I'm triying to fix the hack of Mega Man 3 called Mega Man 3: Improvement. The hack is amazing but the select stage screen looks worst than the original game because a glitch (in other emulators look great). Changing some values with a hex editor may be the solution. The idea is restore the stage select menu to its original form (with the known little glitch above Shadow Man). I've triying this for myself but no luck and I don't wanna use Retroarch for many reasons (no pixelart, lack of demo mode and others). Any help would be appreciate. Sorry for the offtopic but but I don't find other site where launch this question since no much people is interested in kachikachi.

The hack: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/992/

Slightly off-topic, but for anyone still following this thread who also care about the NESCE, we've confirmed that the kachikachi included with the Shonen Jump adds a good number of new mappers:

https://www.reddit.com/r/nesclassicmods/comments/91dbqx/latest_kachikachi_mapper_findings/

I've tested the entire US library against them (including unlicensed), and so far, only Wally Bear and the NO! Gang fails to run perfectly.  The mappers more or less cover American Games, Color Dreams, and Wisdom Tree.

Nice.

So Batman Revenge of the Joker now plays?

Unfortunately, no - no change in behavior for any of the original mappers.

Hi finally Magno has released his Spanish translation of Star Ocean, it loads in the mini with the ID and Extra Byte 03 but it has bad graphics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqtStXZnGbs
If some one wants to try to fix it here is the link to the patch: http://magno.romhackhispano.org/so.html

You should be able to make the sfrom for Star Ocean the same as used for the English Translation, you have to use sfromtool and use Dark Akuma's VC patch for the game http://darkakuma.z-net.us/p/sfromtool.html#Patches and select the ips and you should end up with a working sfrom
