Translations: Wonder Project J 2 Translation Announced
« on: December 20, 2006, 08:36:00 pm »

Update By: Ryu

I've decided to finally make it public that I'm working on a translation for the N64 game Wonder Project J2.
For that matter I've set up a basic project page which you can find here, it will inform you in detail about the project's status and what's always important is has lot's of screenshots. Enjoy )

Wonder Project J 2 - w00t! 8)

I actually have this game for the N64.  I always wanted to get into it & thought that it might be good aside learning Japanese.

I am definitely looking forward to this.

I hold a personal grudge against Nintendo Power for introducing us backward Americans to Wonder Project J2, Marvelous: Another Treasure Island and countless other games they knew full well had no chance of ever coming out commercially in English.

Way to go, man. Keep kickin' some ass. Just one fiddly suggestion: I don't think the font quite goes with the style of the game.

I used to own this game when I used to import N64 games from Japan back in the late 90's, and I liked playing it alot. So I'm gonna be lookin out for this translation, nice work so far.  ;)

I saw this game in a magazine once, and thought, "Oh, cool. You're teaching her to be human-like!" That seemed the coolest concept at the time, but I had forgotten about it until now.
I agree with Ryusui, you might want to look into the font. The font from Zelda OoT would fit nicely[imho].

This will be a must-play. Good work! ;D

I dig the Arial, but I always was crazy that way.

The font seems perfect! Then again, I'm judging the game through the screenshots. It looks like a really good GBA game! XD I didn't think it was for N64... So, it's basically a training-a-girl game? O.o

The girl is an android, and she's going to save the world. It's up to you to make sure she doesn't screw it up.

...That's what I remember from the NP article, anywho.

LMAO!!! XD

In that case, I guess it's best I don't play it... I might end up blowing the whole world up without having a clue as to how I did it, LMAO!!! XD (I still have to play the game)

Jokes aside, that concept is very original to me. I've never heard of such a game... Very... Intriguing!

You could play the original Wonder Project J to get a feel for it, you know. LordTech hacked that one, and it's for the very-accessible NES. In that, you're a little fairy-helper thing trying to raise a boy robot. You have to teach him how to be human. It's kinda cool.

I like the font too. However, I think compared to the original, it's way too small... Sure on real hardware it wouldn't just blur or something on a TV screen?

HOLY #$%^ It's from Enix! Although this may not be a game made by what's-his-name-creator-of-Dragon-Quest! >_<

I'll check this SNES version out, thanks, GidionZhi (and Red Comet- otherwise, I would've spent a great deal of time looking through NES lists! XD)

I enjoyed the first WPJ quite a bit before getting bogged down in later chapters. This looks really neat.
