Is it possible to add new blocks to a level in ISD SMBUtil?
« on: September 04, 2017, 08:31:16 pm »
I want to know if I could create new blocks in a level instead of changing old ones. I also would like to know why some objects are mislabeled. For example, the item labeled coin block is really a mushroom block, and the poison mushroom block is really a coin block.
Call me Nate because I can't manually change my username and there isn't a thread specifically for that.

The objects are deliberately mislabeled because it corresponds to SMB2J-type levels, the type of SMB Utility you are using. And no, there is, unfortunately, no easy way to add custom blocks other than learning 6502 ASM. You could change what type of powerups could come out of the blocks though. There's an instant-spike patch which replace orange mushroom platforms, but I'm not sure if through the mapping and patching of the ISD SMB Utlity package will cause any side effects.
Is the pool clean?
