Has there ever been A Donkey Kong 64 hack?
« on: July 03, 2017, 03:26:34 am »
I'm basically asking if there's ever been a DK64 hack? Not a Mario inside Donkey Kong, but like, the DK64 engine with all new worlds and objectives? If there are, I would love to play them! All I can find is the Super Donkey Kong 64 hack...

@Isao Kronos

The game is padded beyond belief ... and the developers decided to "fix" a bug by making memory expansion mandatory. So yes...

The game is simply too big for most to undertake, literally.  You'd be far more likely to find a hack of Mario 64 mostly because of that.

If Donkey Kong is proving tricky there are plenty of folks doing fairly extensive mods of banjo kazooie, and there are nice tools to boot (been a while since I dipped into N64 hacking but banjo's backpack was doing good stuff last time I did).
