Inject custom songs into Guitar Hero 2? Could I also remove songs? If I could, I would replace goddamned Freebird with just about any song except Stairway to Heaven.

Yes, you can inject custom songs to GH2 using Guitar Hero Explore for PS2. You can remove the original chart and .ogg files and replace with custom .chart and .mp3 files.

So png2snes is a graphics program which can allow people to add new sprites or replace sprites for SNES games.

With that Pitstop64 editor, someone can make Mario Kart 64 style sprites of Donkey Kong Jr. and Koopa Troopa.

Hi, png2snes dev here. I wrote this program as a development tool for SNES development. You can use it to replace sprites or background tiles in ROM, assuming you know exactly where to replace them, but I haven`t designed it for this specific purpose.

All existing tools were DOS/Windows only and work with somewhat obscure file formats like pcx, and it didn`t integrate well with my development environment (Debian Linux, Gimp for editing graphics, Vim for editing text files, GNU Make and WLA for assembling). Therefore I wrote my own tool. I designed it to integrate well into a Makefile rule, so that the image is recompiled only when it changes.

I designed it for my personal use at first, then one of my friends thought the tool was really useful and reccomended I post it here for other romhackers to try out. I do not guarantee it will have all the features anybody needs but I am open to any request I strongly suggest you post any features/bugs/issues to the Github repo: https://github.com/NewLunarFire/png2snes. It might take a while for me to see if you wrote a message on rhnet but I look at my Github every day. I will try to look over here every once in a while for any comments.

Damn, my posts tend to drag. I just hope nobody gets intimidated by that wall of text.

I hope people make custom sprites for that game.  :)

Doubt you could use the program on official disks, though.

It works on PS2 console and emulator. PS2 console, you just need to make a copy disc of GH. PS2 emulator, you just need to extract the iso and create iso file.

What about the XBox360 editor?
You need to extract GHII Xbox 360 iso using "Xbox 360 Image Creator" to get the data files. Open "Guitar Hero II 360" tool and open .HDR and .ARK files to access the list. Inject custom .chart and .mp3 file and save it to the file and create iso disc.
