Pokemon Stadium 2 GB Tower Questions
« on: April 05, 2017, 08:16:49 am »
Hi guys.

I was thinking, why it´s so difficult to patch the GB Tower to allow other GB games? I mean, Pokemon Stadium 2 was released at 2001, after 16 years, no one dared to touch the ROM.

So here´s the questions:

1. Is there a source with information about this?

2. Which program/debugger could I try?

3. Adding color support in Zoinkity´s patched Pocket Monsters Stadium and make larger than 1MB ROMs is possible?

4. Wouldn´t be a possibility make an GB Emulator via Transfer Pak?

Excuse me if I made a lot of question and for my bad English, too.

I hope someone could help me to achieve this.

Regards, LuigiStar.

First thing to try would be to change the header or ROM info of any other game to that of the compatible games, such as Pokemon RBY or GSC and see if it boots with the changed header data.

Nop, it doesn´t boot as far as I can remember.

Something more to try? This is tricky as fuck.

You do need an Everdrive GB and ED 64 though. Either way, what you're asking has been possible for a while - I played through Pokemon Crystal in GB Tower a year ago. If you don't have both an ED64 and EDGB you're shit out of luck though, sorry.

I have a EDGB and a ED64 though, also I have an EMS Smart Card...

If I didn´t look enough I wouldn´t post this topic. Think about it.

Also, my EDGB, for unknown reasons, even with the TP modded, it doesn´t work in the loader app. Too strange.

If you have an ED64, you can try this, this patch was created by Zoinkity BTW, but it only works with B/W titles and not with GBC exclusives:

https://mega.nz/#!lBoGRA5D!r7L2dH7jWoEJbCFUBanvsd-evi8ikuiG_F2n2oaPM1Y

I tested Link´s Awakening DX and it works fine, but not in real colors like in a GBC, but it behave like in a SGB.

That´s the point of the thread: doing the same with PKMS 2 or add color support in Pocket Monsters Stadium.

My Smart Card also, is slightly out of spec, which means I have to "mess with it up" lots of times to make it work...

I think you don´t know how the Smart Card works. XD.

Also I see you don´t know how it´s the topic about. Learn to read. lol

What? You're the one writing in broken english, not me.

Of course it's not going to work as a GBC. And jesus, aren't you a cunt and a half? Calm the fuck down.
