I'm not sure how the forum here works, but I noticed some of the editors like MegaXed had a thread.

I was hoping to ask a couple questions about it but wasn't sure where to go for that.

It's a brand new editor so I dunno if anyone will know that much about it. It kinda came out of nowhere. Noone posted about it before. Hopefully the creator of the editor is watching the forum.

NecroCorey

Thanks I wasn't sure if he had already made a thread or not about his thing.

I'll just ask here for now.

Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to get it to start up? I have the VC installed already and tried running in admin and some other stuff.

tvtoon

Yeah, does not work in Windows 7 with latest VCRT.

I also would like to address that the author packed it up with the entire ruby library, that is pretty heavy and pushing the package size. At least the documentation and source are mashed together. :)

Hey, I'm the author of this program.

I tested it on a few computers, but it's possible I didn't include something that it needs in order to run on some computers. I was trying to get the filesize down and may have removed something I shouldn't have. Can you try this version and tell me if it works? The filesize is big though, be warned.

Also, if it still doesn't start, I made a change that will show you what the error is. Show me that and I should have a better idea of the problem. :)

Not the entire ruby library, just the parts necessary for it to run. I know it's pretty big but unfortunately I couldn't find any way to get it lower than it is.

Just reporting in to say that this link worked for me.

Will you be opening a thread for your tool at any point? I'm sure I'll have some more questions about it once I dig into it, it looks great.

Good idea, I just made a thread for it: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,23678.0.html

Hello, from what I have heard this tool is fantastic but sadly I'm having trouble getting it to run.

I have a HP laptop that runs on Windows 10 and after extracting everything to a folder I try to open it up but nothing happens, I do not get a error message or nothing.

I have Visual C++ Redistributable installed on my laptop already (It came installed with the OS) so I can not figure out what the problem is.

You're using the updated version I posted, right?
https://github.com/LagoLunatic/DSVEdit/releases/download/v1.0/DSVania_Editor_1.0_full.zip

If it's still not showing the error for some reason then try this:
Hold shift and right click on the folder with DSVEdit in it, then select "Open command window here"
Then in the command window type dsvedit.exe and hit enter.
Then you should be able to see the error.
