Quote from: cccmar on March 01, 2017, 02:07:32 AMI've never heard anything about the PCE version being worked on either, but it would be pretty darn cool (I guess you'd have to do a fandub though).
Quote from: Kallisto on March 01, 2017, 11:13:10 AMOh you meant that version? Either way still love to see that series finally get some kind of conclusion.
Quote from: elmer on March 01, 2017, 12:29:28 PMFalcom's series-boundaries really confuse me.It looks like "The Legend of Heroes" series is still an active series?
Quote from: Googie on February 25, 2017, 11:00:17 PMFinishing abandoned translations would be really cool, too. I changed the thread title, thanks for reminding me about the abandoned translation projects.

Quote from: SpiderDave on February 28, 2017, 04:21:12 AMWell, not sure if I'd call this unfinished, but it's certainly not active. I've been making little tweaks to one of my favorite romhacks, Wilford Brimley Battle (a River City Ransom hack). I redid the font, and it looks so much nicer. A few errors fixed, and some more Brimley-related text. I think if I release it I'd have to add some more substantial stuff though, maybe a new move or something.
Quote from: tc on March 18, 2017, 10:57:06 PMSuper Robot Wars games are a great source of underappreciated work. The kind of series that comes to mind when I think of this topic, with how many unfinished translations have come and gone.Trails of Cold Steel III is headed to PS4 soon. But The Legend of Heroes V effectively ended the original series. The reboot Trails in the Sky is sometimes called "The Legend of Heroes VI", including on early Japanese PC releases, until its endless ports/sequels/reprints dropped the number for marketing reasons.
Quote from: tog on March 23, 2017, 07:26:31 AMI don't know if this would count or not, but Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2) was started by Cless many years ago and has been inactive for a very long time now. This is one that needs to be finished.
Quote from: 8.bit.fan on March 24, 2017, 03:30:36 AMHi there,I'm very glad you made this topic and that the community here is generally ok with this. I completely agree that when a hack that's unfinished, hasn't been touched in years and basically abandoned, it's ok to try and finish it so long as you give the original creator credit. This way at least people can enjoy the hacks, and some of them are actually pretty amazing.I've actually done this to two Mega Man 2 hacks already. I kept them to myself because I recall reading on another rom hacking forum that this is frowned upon(finishing another person's hack). So, I never released them. But I think this is a good time to do so here.I've made these two MM2 unfinished hacks so that you can actually play through them from beginning all the way to the end:1) Rockman 2 Deluxe Ver - v1.02 (use GoodNES 3.14 - Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J) [!])http://www.filedropper.com/rockman2-deluxeverlastzoneopenedjv102For this one, I basically reworked the tiles and a few items/enemies for Wily 3 so that the stage isn't a jumbled mess. You can now easily navigate and play through it normally and get to the rest of the game.2) Mega Man 2 Wily's Conquest 2 - v0.9 (user GoodNES 3.14 - Megaman II (U) [!])http://www.filedropper.com/megaman2-wilysconquest2uv09The unfinished version of the game ends after Wily 3. As soon as you begin in Wily 4 you are surrounded by death tiles so you are unable to go on. None of the Wily 4, 5, and 6 levels are done. The original MM2 Wily 4 and 5 levels are left intact in the rom, so I brought them back with some edits to take advantage of MM's added speed. I completely redesigned Wily 4's boss for this as well. Wily 6 was partially hacked, but appeared to be intentionally 'blocked off'. I opened it back up and put the stage back together with a few of my own edits also with MM's new speed in mind.I have always been fascinated with this hack as it speeds up MM's movement much like Burst Chaser. However, this came out in 2002 so that's pretty amazing, and I prefer MM1&2's gameplay/physics over MM3-6 so I've always wanted to play through this one. With that said, the original hack of the robot master stages aren't without problems. With the added speed, you'd think this hack would be a blast to play through. But the original version of the hack was littered with bad enemy placements and at times just way too many enemies in each section, making the game less than enjoyable in many areas to play through. For this reason, I'm keeping the version number at 0.9 for now. When I have the time, I would love to come back and 'clean up' the rest of the hack and the stages for a better experience.Ok that's all I have for now. I've attached the IPS files for the two hacks. Feel free to give them a whirl and let me know what you think!I'll likely submit these two hacks to the site later also. Cheers!
Quote from: Kallisto on March 24, 2017, 04:23:55 AMEmerald Dragon (Turbo CD - Dave Shadoff) -I tried contacting a few of the hackers (one of the hackers is not really supposed to be listed), but I never got a real response on what was going on with this project.

Quote from: Googie on March 24, 2017, 10:26:50 AMI saw a YT video on this game, it'd be cool to see it finished.Cool, thanks for working on these hacks! Dragoneye Studious was a powerhouse back in the day. And Rockman 2 Deluxe is a great hack, too. I'm gonna give these a spin before I head out, I always wanted to hack Mega Man 2 also. Another hack that can be finished is Super Hario Bros V4.46, a SMB2 hack. You can find it on most ROM sites to check it out, it has decent level designs and the graphics are decent too.
Quote from: 8.bit.fan on March 25, 2017, 06:33:16 AMAwesome and thanks! Let me know what you think of them.
Quote from: Googie on March 29, 2017, 01:50:21 PMI just played the hacks and they're pretty great, you did a great job on them. That's why I like this community, they're pretty cool with ideas like this. I'm glad that you finished these hacks, too.
