Your Local Game Music Playlist
« on: January 31, 2017, 01:04:44 pm »
Open your Windows Media Player app on your computer (do you use iTunes? To each their own), and tell me what your biggest gaming list entails. I'll give you the highlights of mine.

I have several pieces from Final Fantasy Tactics, the entirety of Castlevania 1's soundtrack, F-Zero's Mute City Theme, some remixes of classic Nintendo game music (Hyrule Temple, Brinstar) from Smash Bros. Melee, and a few pieces from Wild ARMs (Lone Bird in the Shire, Into The Wilderness, and Courage).

Lots of others too. I have a crapton of game music saved on this thing that I put on shuffle/repeat in the morning and do stuff. :D

You?

Project Chaos - Sonic & Knuckles ReMix album
Some favorites from it are Dead Batteries, The Doomsday, Walk on Water, and Live at the Sandopolis.

11h30 Crash Overdrive Mix pulled from S.H.A.D.E.S of Manhatten
Hypnotica - Ecco the Dolphin remix
I'm a Force of Nature - Wild ARMs remix
Megadriveania
Spoony's Metal Man cover
Nuff Sand in Yo' Eyes from Bound Together album
On Days Like These - Cavestory X Undertale final boss Mix
Orange Sunset from Cave Story Remix Project
Scott Pilgrim vs the World Rock Club cover by FamilyJules7x
Rolans Curse II soundtrack in .gbs format
The Fallout of Eli - Fallout theme remix
Bloody Tears Metal cover by ToxicXEternity
Diamond Dust Zone Metal Cover by ToxicXEternity
and VGMpire episodes 116, 117, &120

Used to have a lot more stuff than this too but most of the music I'd accrued died with my last computer.
I use VLC for pretty much everything, Winamp for chiptunes though.

Have not used a media library ever, unless you count I had mp3tag and never used it for anything other than sorting tags. Player wise then on windows media player classic is where it is at.

Game music wise...

I guess Canned Heat - On the road again was in a need for speed game once. If I continued on that theme then finding what punk and metal songs were not used in a Tony Hawk or similar game would probably be the easier option.

Edit. Apparently I had a copy of the skyrim theme from a silly video I made once.

Dude it's way too much to even tell you. I'll try . .

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution soundtrack
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution soundtrack extended (includes every version of every gameplay music - stealth, stress and combat - about 135 tracks
  • 1187 mod intro track (Source mod)
  • Bioxeed Megamix v1.0, v1.2 & Subsequent Onslaught (from Dystopia mod)
  • Chaser End Credits & Chaser Mars Spaceport tracks (Chaser PC game)
  • most of Ed Harrison's Neo Tokyo tracks (multiplayer Source mod)
  • Unreal Tournament 2003 - 4 tracks
  • Steve Foxon Redsun 2020 tracks (Deus Ex mod)
  • Steve Foxon Zodiac tracks (Deus Ex mod)

The rest isn't gaming related and that is just what's in a particular playlist I have.

  • Portal Prelude
  • The Nameless Mod (Deus Ex mod)
  • Castlevania - Wicked Orchestra (DnB Mix)

Spoony's Metal Man cover

I'm so glad you like it. ... I literally was just bored to tears when I made it.

Other highlights of my playlist include the Intro Theme from Link To The Past, and Flammie's Theme from Secret of Mana MSU-1.

I use Winamp with the classic skin. I hate pretty much every other player I've used.

Right now I'm cycling through:
Front Mission
Front Mission: Gun Hazard
Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together (<--stupid ass subtitle)
Castlevania: Dracula X
Radical Dreamers
Treasure Conflix

I've been going back and forth between listening to these and sifting through them for sound samples to rip for my own tunes.
Cigarettes, ice-cream, figurines of the Virgin Mary...

This is just one of the albums I'm very into -

https://krzysztofslowikowski.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-x4-guitar-playthrough

Don't let the price for you, the album is actually free though you have to download each song individually (unless you want to support him nonetheless), but some of the other works are not completely free (except a couple of albums). His guitar covers of Mega Man X4 are completely amazing, and I'm glad someone finally gave this game the attention it needed, I can't wait to see what he'll do with Mega Man X5.

Currently he is doing covers for Mega Man & Bass, but it will be a slow process due to financial problems.
