Special

Wicked, thanks!

This has been a long time coming.

BackPalSA

Amazing, already got it downloaded and patched, getting ready to play now. Thanks SO much ben! And I also wanted to say thanks for that patch of Black Sigil, I can finally tolerate that game's encounters!

Hello,

possible graphic bug report:

Right after starting the game, entering "Mayor's Manor", second floor.

Getting teached about skills by the first NPC, the graphics are somewhat messed up. Tried Snes9x and Bsnes with same result.

Background in 2.5 still pink.

ThegreatBen

I thought I fixed that about 3 times now. Doesn't matter I have to update the Readme so I'll include it then.

I haven't tried that optional patch, but I assumed it was erroneously named and is meant to be the Marle alternate color patch (or the alternate colors use Lucca's colors?), since the Readme says there's a Marle patch.

Although, the Readme also says the auto-run patch is already integrated into the main patch, but it's not. And I'm assuming "Balanced Difficulty" is in fact supposed to be what the Readme called "Nes difficulty". And there's no "Menu music" patch included at all (maybe integrated?).

I should add that I'm thoroughly enjoying the mod so far. I remember trying it quite a while ago and liked it, and this updated version is even better. You can really see the care and attention that's gone into it.

Pethronos

Yes, Balanced difficulty is the same patch named Nes difficulty before.

Don't worry, Ben is going to update the readme for the next update to make all clear.

Just pointing it out so maybe Ben can see, oone of the tiles near Magus's Keep and Ozzie's Fortress, one of the shore tiles, is a bit broken looking, and there's a typo in the Clone dialogue for Belthasar's Nu. He calls the magician in 1000 AD "Nolstein"

In 1999, there are a couple of minor typos, including a missed space in Frog's entry dialogue. The Music in Leene's square doesn't loop. I'll keep you updated as I go through!

how do i get the s.p.e.c.i.a.l chips again?
and i got somthing about time axis out of order.

ThegreatBen

Luccabeta changes Lucca's appearance by giving her new clothes.

I do need to add the missing optional patches back in, and update the Readme asap though.

@backpalsa thanks I'll get onto those.

Time axis out of order? I don't remember anything like that. But you can't use any of the chips until you complete the quest at giant's claw.

For the special chips, they're all in 1999, but to acquire them will often require that you've completed various side quests prior.  If you've checked out all the new places in the distant past and ruined future, and are in The Final Battle instead of The Fated Hour, then you should be able to complete them all fairly easily (hopefully that's enough hints).

To your time axis issue, can you give some more details?

ThegreatBen

The final battle isn't necessary anymore all of 1999 can be completed before the Black Omen now.

I was thinking that I'd really love to see a list of new items/equipment, maybe a list of how charms have been changed, and maybe an indicator that something is exclusive to a character? I don't know if either of these are possible/plausible for you.

Toma in 600 AD has a lowercase I when he says "Can i trust this?" right before giving Crono and co the Pop (which should maybe be renamed to Toma's Ale, since he refers to it as an ale right after)

If I may make a suggestion, this Merman fight is awful, and I really think there needs to be something done about it, unless I am just really missing the point of that fight. I went in at Level 66, 64, 65 Crono, Frog, Magus. I couldn't do it at all, even with the Masamune 2 and Hero's badge. It felt mostly like the healing it did meant there was no way to kill it, and there being no way to run meant I had to load a save from a little bit back. I would love a warning, or the ability to run from the fight.

2.5 had a major gamebreaking bug. The second Lavos phase was just a crash to a pink screen. Its been fixed and re-uploaded (along with the other small things mentioned above) the missing optional patches, and updated Readme have been included as well.

my apologies to all the people that had downloaded it.

As for the Merman he is unique in that he can't be cheesed with ultimates. Hypnowave works on him though, as does neutral magic like tailspin. Casting Haste to outspeed  his healing helps. And the Drone from the 1999 pawnshop helps a ton.

This is my failure.  I never fought Lavos all the way through.  What a stupid oversight in testing.  I was so busy verifying the new stuff, I just used new game plus to cycle through runs.

I did the same thing though. Let's just blame our kids and move on.

2.4 has been re-uploaded until you can fix the problem. No worries Ben. I also put a note in the description explaining the situation which you should remove when you have the fix ready. I looked at the version and didn't see a change wasn't sure if you'd had a chance to upload the fix. IF you have, forgive me and reupload it.
