Those things are cool, but not without bugs (see emails).

ThegreatBen

I got them all except the Frog Ayla repeating line one, any idea what party composition you had to trigger it?

Frog, Marle, Robo.

Ok think I have them all fixed. Frog wasn't actually repeating his lines it's just that both lines have the word demise in them. Ayla however would repeat her line if Lucca wasn't in the active party. Lucca npc version had the trigger for that line in the middle for no reason.

The only one I didn't verify as fixed is going into the creepy children room from the top, but hardly worth sending you a new version for that right now.

Remember there's no reason to go past the first Zeal visit since I haven't fixed past there yet. However while in Zeal you can kill the Son of Sun. It now gives you a fully charged Sunstone if acquired while still in Zeal. Then you can check if there are any conflicts with it in the future.  I'll do the opposite as I play through.

So I just found this project and I just started playing 2.4. I'm wondering if the save files will be compatible or should I stop playing and wait for 2.5 to be released? Also do you have a discord or anything where I can follow this project or is this thread the only discussion?

And yes, I made an account just to ask this question, haha.

The save will be compatible,  but wait for 2.5 it's rapidly approaching release. And yes this thread is the best place to follow this project.

Good to know!

In all honesty this is ALMOST compatible with vanilla for saves, except your stat growth will be off, and DO NOT get any of the triple tech rocks.  Those items are borked in this version, and the descriptions will / can crash your game by simply selecting them in a menu (but they're not needed as triple techs are handled differently).

You shouldn't even be able to get your hands on triple tech rocks.

This is very close to ready. I'm currently working on making Crono optional for the Ocean Palace. It's a pain but going very fast.

Robo's sidequest in 1999 now only requires his 2300 quest to be done, not the Black Omen as in previous versions. Once I check the mutants in the Omen and tweak Choras 1999 it'll be ready.

I may have missed this being said somewhere, but are those triple techs learnable?

ThegreatBen

Just finished getting the Ocean Palace doable without Crono in the party. Just have to check up on Choras 1999 and it should be ready.

You're kidding right? It's been talked about a lot here, and it's hard to miss when playing the hack.

Sorry, been busy and haven't been paying attention to the thread. Also haven't had a chance to dig in to the latest version yet. Been waiting for 2.5.

ThegreatBen

So good news! The only remaining restriction for having full access to 1999 with the Epoch is unlocking the suite. You can then go there from any time period and fly anywhere on the map with it.

Currently cleaning up Robo's 1999 quest as it was pretty crude and rushed.  Then a quick check on the Black Omen.

Pethronos

Good news indeed! Really looking forward to trying the next version

Cool! My fiance just started playing the mobile version and I want to have us switch to this version asap.

BackPalSA

Can't wait to see this when it's finished! Hopefully it comes out in the next few weeks!

ThegreatBen

What is presumably the 2.5 final version has been handed off to Andrew for double checking, then it's good to go.

Nice!

Fingers crossed for a release this week, but I know it's important that you guys find and iron out bugs in the new content. I've been holding off of a playthrough of Chrono Trigger for this version of the mod, and I've been holding off on Chrono Cross for the rumored remaster that might be coming.
