I Understand, thou wisheth Us to keep that shell here four centuries hence, correct?

The royal "Us"
wishest -> wisheth
1 century -> 4 centuries.

And for the next line:
"Please acquiesce their request." -> "Please acquiesce to their request."

*edit- Oh yea, NG+ 1999 AD Choras is BROKEN.

ThegreatBen

Cool! I'm finally caught up with the stuff you've posted.

I'm currently working on the dactyl nest summit scene.

Did you ever find that life sparkle? It's in lab 64 in 2300.

I didn't even know lab 64 was a thing until I read your post, lol. And that's after having walked all over the 'building' it's entrance was located at.

I found the life sparkle, and a bit with Robo commenting on a mushroom enemy being unknown, but not poisonous... and that's it. Does that mushroom thing actually serve a purpose? and was there anything else there I missed?

Did you see the bit I asked about the new ending from beating Lavos in the ocean palace? It was spoilered near the end of the post a few posts back... I have no idea if the ending is working as intended, or if it's severely broken.

Also, does the FroznFlame item from beating Lavos at the Ocean Palace do anything?

ThegreatBen

The mushroom goes to the snail stop in 1999.

I have have no clue what happened with the ending, that's some creepy pasta shit.

The frozen flame is simply a trigger item that makes everyone in the Zeal ending act the way they do.

Since this project and topic has gone on far longer than I thought it would, what has been added to Chrono Trigger Plus so far?

Besides what is described in the original post on page 1.

I keep losing track of this topic over the years.

Hands mushroom over.
Well... That was... Interesting... Lol.

Upon closer inspection, after selecting to end the game from the book in Chrono's hut (still, lol @ Alya), what I thought was a save dialog was in fact the title screen where it was asking to load a save, and the spot I was "saving" just happened to have a near-endgame save from my first playthrough, lol.

Maybe set it up so selecting to end the game from the book triggers one of the credit rolls from one of the other endings? Assuming you don't plan to add your own ending sequence eventually showing the temporal effects of saving Zeal (which would honestly be pretty damned cool), kinda like how everyone was a reptite in the dino ending, or Marle was descended from Frog in that other ending.

It's come a long way since the first page.
Here is the Readme that details most of what the hack does.

Worked on this today, but still getting the dactyl nest summit going. Building it into a proper scene to set the mood for the task the party is about to undertake.

Question. Bit of an odd one. Does this romhack also change the Magus 600 AD fight?

Basically, the way I remember fighting him ... perhaps I'm remembering wrong... is that, because he'd always change magical types when you attacked him with magic, and counter with huge magical attacks at the same time, instead of 'playing his game', I was patient and only used physical, and it was basically just a matter of being patient, and though tedius, there was basically nothing he could do.

But now... even with the whole party Hasted ... he attacks with group attacks on his own so frequently that I keep being TPK'd. And, again...perhaps I'm remembering him wrong...but I remember him being a fairly straightforward fight as long as you didn't try to play his silly magical game.

Did this romhack change it so instead of countering with magical area attacks, he just spams them on his own? Or is that a bug?

ThegreatBen

Magus' AI is completely untouched,  he always worked like that.

Got some more done on this today.  Finished the dactyl nest summit. Then I really cleaned up the Reptite village and gave the Reptites some more dialog and reactions to liven them up.

Lastly I added an entrance to the Frog King forest between Magus and Ozzie's keeps. This will be where he and Frog have their showdown from now on.

Yea, Magus takes a big hit to his DEF if he's hit with the Masamune, so taking him out physically is actually one of the easier ways.

Personally, I like taking Frog and Marle for that fight. Because Magus will counter/weaken himself to the element that was last cast on him, this lets you have 2 characters spamming water element attacks along with the 3rd doing physical, letting every attack do full damage (assuming Frog throws in a physical attack every few turns to keep Magus's DEF down).

Edit - nevermind my question about the FMVs is in a couple pages back.

But I do have another question, and this is entirely up to you.

I noticed people were not entirely satisfied how the story played out with the Dream Devourer in the DS version, you think you can do one better than SE? Would be fun to play around with.

ThegreatBen

Speaking of endings, I'm currently adding an ending viewer to the game that will allow you to view any endings you've already unlocked.

I also finished moving the Frog king encounter to his new location.

Hello ^^ I am a big fan of Chrono Trigger and I found your hack, I have a question for you does your ROM hack have all the side quest in the SNES and DS version? And if not are you intended to included in your ROM Hack?

dickinsons

ThegreatBen

I have a question to use your hack

What is the name of Flac converted to WAV and then PCM should be for Battle 2 and Singing Mountain songs?

Example:
Chrono_msu1-85.pcm
Chrono_msu1-100.pcm

These examples I mentioned I found elsewhere on the internet, but they are not generated in the Chrono Patch Trigger MSU-1 (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2546/)
Would Battle2 and Singing Mountain be?

Because at README I only found MSU-1 Music Fully Integrated (Still Requires The Tracks)

Thank you very much for your attention.

MD_Prometh

This looks like an amazing romhack

Can't wait to play it once the next version comes out. I have played the original SNES version but not the DS version, so the DS extras being planned is exciting.

Took a little break from this cause I have a newborn daughter to look after. Things are getting a little more manageable now, so I'm hoping to resume in December.
