Fellow Castlevania 3 hacker Spindaboy/linkncb gave me the idea to post this here.
Temple of the Waxing Moon has been worked on on and off over the past 2-3 months, and I'm done at least half the levels.
In terms of other content, I'll ask a few questions along the way for help (such as for hex edits, custom music, etc.)

Title Screen for the hack.
I still need to figure out how to change several of the palettes as leaving the default ones looks like a mess, particularly where the moon is.

Stage 1 - The Mountain Stronghold

Stage 2- the Water Tower
I figured let's take advantage of the fact the waterfalls and the gears are in the same sprite/graphic index, and really needed an idea for stage 2.

Stage 3 - The Overgrowth
Might want to go back and change these graphics a bit.

Stage 4 - Buried Ruin

Stage 4A - The Flagship

Stage 5 - Cave of Cacophony
Might want to redo the graphics. I'm not sure yet, I could just leave it as is.

Stage 5A
Don't have a name for this one yet.

Stage 6 - Gemstone Mine

Stage 6B - Inferno Pit
When the player falls in the water/lava, light blue/white particles appear (those being the water splashing effect). Anyone know how to change their color or remove them entirely?

Stage 6A - Hauntlantis
I finished the first area of this stage last night - and then the power went out!

Stage 7 (Alucard Route)
Probably one of my favorite stages in terms of graphics, and how many different things I could fit into one stage.

Things I'm hoping to do:
- Redraw graphics at Overgrowth (?)
- Remove water splash / change its color in the inferno level
- Redesign a few rooms in Stage 1 (they're kind of underwhelming at the moment)

Hmmm this is a really interesting Castlevania 3 hack you have going on here,Im liking some of the stage layouts so far,I wonder what other things you are planning to put in this?

This one got my attention.  Looks interesting  :)

Did another level recently:

Stage 7A - Dark Ascent

This stage has quite a bit of platform hell associated with it; more so than the average level. This has you do both platforming and killing monsters at the same time!

From this stage onward, the rest of the hack will take place in the final temple.

DavidtheIdeaMan

Awesome work right there, this hack will be VERY tough by the looks of it,hope to see more?  :)

Synnae

Quite interesting stuff. I like the levels, they look pretty. :)

CM30

Hack looks good so far. I expect it's gonna be a tad too tough for me, but the level design looks like it'll be great fun for those Castlevania experts out there.

Also, is this the hack you're posting videos of on YouTube?

Very cool. Will have to keep an eye on this thread. Had been looking for a reason to replay CV3 again.

Cheers  Keep up the great work!!

This definitely has my attention. IIRC, there are no real good hacks of CV3 yet.

Is there a demo yet?
Curious of an estimated time you will to be done also

Looks very good. Excellent palette choices, and the difficulty looks comparable to vanilla

Seriously,we need more creative and original Castlevania rom hacks rather than the same re-hash game over & over again, the stages look different and something I have NEVER seen before,I hope this game has different characters and custom music? :)

After a long wait, it's here! I just got sidetracked with Grant speedruns and school life for the past few weeks.

Temple of the Waxing Moon

I don't have much to write as it's very late at night, and I plan to post similar release announcements elsewhere in the future.
Keep in mind I'll change things and go along with other users' suggestions if necessary.

Im trying out the Demo and I have to say GEEZ this is TOUGH XD but seriously, interesting level design choice and plus Im wonder if you can give the other three characters weapon upgrades, there own sub weapons, more updated levels and custom music?

TheLuigiLightning

I have played up until Grant.  The first two levels were extremely easy, and had boring level design.  I didn't feel like enemies were placed cleverly, but for the sake of having an enemy.  The colour pallet choices in many instances are also very dull and one-dimensional.  The baby blue is a fine example of this.  Also the gray in the second level.  Also, twisting staircases is not an interesting design choice either.  You could be using that space to make intricate platforming.  The part with the flying beasts coming at you from behind was not difficult, but rather annoying.  I didn't die a single time up to the point where I was at, so to me, it's way too easy.

The opening story is good, showing that it's a direct sequel to the original, but WHY does Grant act like this is all new to him???  The dialogue should acknowledge the fact that they've met before.  Instead, he just sounds like a lunatic.  (How did he let himself get possessed in the same way twice...?).  If you're not going to use ASM and change your encounter with him, I suggest you justify it in the transcript.  Maybe something like "This is so embarrassing... I can't believe this has happened again!  Thank you for saving me once again Trevor.  I will gladly join forces with you again to fight Dracula."

Also, why does the title screen look so dull when it's not part of the cutscene?  This really needs some work, and I felt like that when I first started following this hack.  Don't be so quick to release a demo.  Trust me, I know how it can feel to want to get your work out there in a rush, and let people see what you've done, but success cannot be rushed, and it will only be that much more satisfying when you've worked to a point where it can be appreciated by those you show it to.  This has potential, but you should take some time with it.  There isn't even a full page of replies on this thread yet.  Take a step back man.
I am Luigi Lightning.  (You can just call me Luigi, though).
Some say my name is Luigi Lightning.  Others say I am a Lightning Luigi.  Some also say I am Luigi's Lightning.  Some even say I am some prodigy; The Luigi Lightning... guys, it's just a title.  You were correct the first time.

I'm curious, Lugimi (or whatever your name is) what hacks you have made?
I wonder if I will appreciate them -  when you show them to me?

I am currently writing a novel series.  Also, if you're confused of what to call me, Luigi is fine thank you.
