SNES patch does not play the bonus sfx. Or should not? I didn't hear it yet.

Just for the record, I *do* want nesrocks in the credits section of the webpage, since he did the original patch for the NES version.

Looking at the queue status, I didn't notice until now he edited the credits (before I did).

So I don't know how the system will process this. :|

(I credited nesrocks with 'Original Hacking', so hopefully that's right?? I couldn't find a way to remove my credit edit from queue)

edit: @nesrocks
If you'd like to be credited as a co-author / releaser, please do so. I think that may be more appropriate actually, since you made the original 'release 1' patch. And all I did was a tiny follow-up by removing the sfx.

Shame on me for not asking.

How would you like this to be handled? I'm open to anything - swapping you around as full credit, removing myself or whatever works best iyo.

If you didn't do any of the hacking and just made the patch they want you to credit who actually did the work. I submitted a few patches for other people cause they found addresses and I just made them into patches for people to enjoy.

Officially:
nesrocks found the original address 1C3A. 3 bytes edit. Which causes the bonus sfx to play.

So I found a different hex address 1C16, which requires just a 1 byte edit. Which turns off the bonus sfx.

I made a patch based off the 1 byte I found. But I did use nesrocks original patch research as a base to speed things along.

Not sure that makes sense.

edit: And looking at it now, I realize how close those addresses are. Guess I'm confused as how to handle this best. :(

I dunno, but I'd credit both of you.

Got some advice - Credit both. Released by both. nesrocks gets priority "Original" status.

Works for me. Queue status is empty. I'll do it.

Just a mention in any way is all good.  8) I submitted my credit and nothing else because I wasn't sure what else had been done on the patch you submitted and by whom.

It looks good the way it is now, but if you want to change it it's fine by me.
