Oh, yeah... that translation I mentioned I was playing -- I completed it and fully recommend it: Famicom Detective Club Part II.
Decent story, but dear god do you have to do a lot of brute forcing through dialog options to progress through that game. :banghead:

yakuza 4 and 5 all the way, sure you could play 1 and 2 but 4 has all the cutscenes from 1-3

we don't talk about 3's localization

Speaking of translations, check out Chaos Seed.  Pretty unique game that's all it's own type, but I'd call it a hybrid of Dungeon Keeper/Evil Genius's style of building a dungeon with uh... it has parts of an action-RPG I guess?

Also the SNES remake of the NES Megami Tensei games is pretty darn good material for October.

Second post by tastycakes I've seen in my email that was nonexistent when clicking through to the actual thread. The first was in the "Coexistence" thread.

If you never actually got to see the pics that tastycakes spammed the site with, consider yourself lucky.

Posting this in case someone else scours the thread for game suggestions.

Beyond Good and Evil - I've had this game for ages but just recently started playing through it. For a gamecube game (it's also on PS2, maybe Xbox) it's way ahead of it's time: it feels like I'm playing a modern PS3/4 game in how some of the mechanics are laid out. For the most part the game's fully voiced, the characters bullshit with each other as you run around and do things. Gameplay wise, it feels like the best parts of a 3D zelda title and Pokemon Snap are melded together (you can take pictures of fauna to make extra cash - even the bosses and the different species of peoples!).

Also, there's an entire race of mechanically-inclined Jamaican Rhinos that run a garage your character frequents for vehicle upgrades. And who can say no to something that epic?
