Thought you should know that the link to Final Fantasy IV - Free Enterprise is broken.  Remove "www" to restore function.

Edit:  On closer examination, the "www" is not the issue.  Apparently the site is not secure.  Therefore the "s" in "https" has to be removed for the link to work.  Or just use "ff4fe.com", which seems to be the new address.

SmashManiac

Thanks for letting me know Swordmaster! I updated the URL (refresh to see the change) and alerted b0ardface, the main author of Free Entreprise, that his redirect is broken and that his new site no longer supports HTTPS. Hopefully he'll be able to fix those issues soon.

If you don't randomize anything, there's a really nice QoL hack hidden in that Phantasm Star 2 randomizer. Extra exp and fast walking make the game so much better. The only thing I'd add (and I actually did hack it in) is the end of battle texts not taking two text boxes each so you don't have to button mash as much.

New randomizers:
- Metroid II: Return of Samus
- Wario Land 4

I also updated the AM2R community patch (with randomizer) to the latest version.

Note that I completely rebuilt my website from scratch and deployed it today as well. Let me know if you guys have trouble using it.

EDIT:
- Added a winnable seed generator for the Metroid Prime 2 randomizer.
- The Super Mario Bros. 2 randomizer no longer requires a Discord account for download.

EDIT 2: I'm aware that my website is offline. It appears to be caused by DNS propagation issues. Hopefully it should be back in a few hours. Sorry for the inconvenience. Turns out it was a DNSSEC issue caused by my bug at my registrar. Everything should be fixed now. Please let me know if you still can't access the list.

heres a crappy sonic 1 (sms) randomizer. didnt put much effort into it because i dont care for the game but it exists.

Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Master System is an unexpected entry as the first Sonic the Hedgehog game on my list, but I'll take it! Thanks ssjtroly!

I've added it, along with brand new The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask randomizers! The new The Legend of Zelda one is open-source and shuffles minor and major items together, and the Majora's Mask one shuffles loading zones.

SmashManiac

For anyone interested, I just added a randomizer in the list for the original freeware version of La-Mulana, which is compatible with aeon genesis's English patch, so if you can't afford the remake you can still enjoy a randomized experience. 8)

ok, for some reason github is refusing to let me login even after 3 attempts at resetting my password AND telling me both my username AND email are already in use...

could someone please ask the creator of the DSVrandom (the Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow / Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin / Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia randomizer) https://github.com/LagoLunatic/dsvrandom know that Windows Defender is blocking the use of their randomizers DSVRandom_x64.exe entirely?

i tried creating an exception...temporarily disabling defender to extract the exe then use it but nope, it's blocked entirely and as such, the randomizer is unusable unless i disable defender then use it then re-enable defender.

Someone else reported this to me recently, but I don't think there's anything I can do to stop that false positive.

The last person who had that issue said it just randomly started working fine again shortly after it started up.
If you're not so lucky, the only thing I can recommend is to run the randomizer directly from the source code, since there will be no executable for it to think is a virus. Instructions on how to run it from source are at the bottom of the readme.

hmmm...that's unfortunate but...ok. long as it works.

edit: i...don't understand this... i've downloaded aos_rando-master, DSVania_Randomizer_1.2.0_x64, and DSVEdit-master.

"Then download DSVRandom's source code and put the dsvrandom folder inside the DSVEdit folder."

DSVania_Randomizer_1.2.0_x64 has a "dsvrandom" folder... do i put that in the DSVEdit-master folder then run "build_ui" or...do i need to put it somewhere else then run build_ui?

also... "Finally run "ruby dsvrandom/dsvrandom.rb" to launch DSVRandom." how do you run a .rb file?

Have you gotten DSVEdit running from source yet? You need to get that running first or you can't run the randomizer. DSVEdit's readme explains how to run it from source.

Just added Digimon World to the list! I also Updated the links to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Shufflizer and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Beta Quest.

On an unrelated note, there's a team that's trying to randomize Final Fantasy VII, and they need help from devs to make it a reality, especially one with MIPS Assembly experience or with knowledge of PSX BIOS calls. If you're interested, please join their FF7 Randomizer Discord server.

treos

oo that sounds like fun news :)

not a fan of the first digimon world personally (not my kind of game) but still good for those who do.

Petuuuhhh

Universal Pokémon Randomizer that can randomize expanded Pokémon, Pokémon that don't use available slots but instead use addition slots. Known to work in Generation 3.

SmashManiac

Sorry Petuuuhhh, but The Universal Pokémon Randomizer has been on the list since its original version, and the link you provided is just a re-upload of its latest Windows version with a pre-created config file and a useless log file. Everything else is a perfect match. I would appreciate if you could double-check next time before posting. Thank you!

'Sup all! No new randomizers, but some interesting news for y'all!

First, dad infinitum used my list to create a variant that mixes all games alphabetically and includes game platforms, randomizer platforms, links to source code when available, and text filtering for game names. If you're interested in these features you might want to take a look!

Second, I've worked on the presentation of my own list. I moved all the randomizers that were in the "Other" category in standalone categories, and changed most of the descriptions to display randomizers' name or primary author instead of features to make things easier to find and less confusing, and only kept feature information whenever documentation on the randomizer page was lacking. Check it out and let me know if you have any comments/suggestions!
