Hi, I would like to thank you MrRichard999 for contributing once more to this website and sharing my complete hack of Metroid: Pitoid. I would also like to thank you and your community here for welcoming me aboard. I would also like to send my respectful greetings to Grimlock (Grimlock Arts). I hope you all enjoy my hack. It is a complete hack using only MetEdit. I made the hack, in the spirit of challenging players like you. :D

I would also like to thank Ponchgaming from metroidconstruction, and to every artist and gamer: Keep up the good work! I really enjoy watching your talent on youtube.

You should download Editroid, you can open the ROM and generate a map in the option menu (it would reveal the whole game though).

I played through part of the first area, the starting screen reminded me a lot of an unreleased Metroid hack I worked on years ago with the same editor (metedit right?).  The open sky was an interesting concept that a lot of hacks over looked as a neat design.

I'll open it up in Editroid and have a look at the entire design when I have an opportunity.

Hi, first I would like to thank you MrRichard999 for contributing once more to this website and sharing my complete hack of Metroid: Pitoid. I would also like to thank you and your community here for welcoming me aboard. I would also like to send my respectful greetings to Grimlock (Grimlock Arts). I hope you all enjoy my hack. If you want to comment it on Youtube and share a walkthrough of this labyrinthesque (as big as I could do a) complete hack using only MetEdit. Be my guest! I would be so happy to see my game again! But now, after being dormant for 16 years and not minded by anyone to whom I have randomly shared it before, I can appreciate people who at least gave it a try. This is why I made the hack, in the spirit of challenging players like you. :D

I would also like to say hello to you Ponch and to every artist and gamer. Keep up the good work! I really enjoy watching your talent on youtube.

(I once draw a very cool map of Pitoid and lost the file... oh well, that was over 10 years ago. Maybe I'll draw a new one someday when I download an emulator... which makes me think... NESticle is probably not the one you use anymore, right?)

No problem! It's great to have a piece of work that has been completed not become lost to time, data corruption, or the fall of file hosting servers. I also believe you will find it here more welcoming to those doing ROM hacking.

Also, if you need an emulator, try FCEUX. Its an emulator which has come a long way from the days of Nesticle.  Editroid is also a nicer tool to work with when it comes to editing maps. You can find it under the utilities section here on the site.

Great! Thank you very much!

(there are 2 things I would've loved to fix: The Title Screen + Some changes of colors happening when using an elevator. Since we know MetEdit is indeed pretty limited as far as I am concerned, it doesn't affect gameplay or level design. I have significantly and efficiently maximized the play area with limited number of possible rooms. Tried to do some kind of a Shipwreck area... or a sort of cameo to it - spoiler :o ) (And why Pitoid? Because of the little twin brother Pit from Kid Icarus)

I really hope Pitoid is at least at the height of your expectations, dear players, and that the subtle ways to get to other areas are as hard as I think they are. I calculated the height of blocks, legal glitches (not going up through door stuff - the normal noob ones) and Ice Beam manipulation of creatures.  :o

For some reasons blocks were blocking the way in Norfair 2... which is supposed to be alright.
