Did you use NO$GBA's palette viewer to get the palette for the Julius mode HUD portraits?

I used DeSmuME's palette viewer to get the RGB values. Then I put the colors in a binary file using Tile Molester to get the bytes to search for (same method I explained earlier).

Oh yes, sorry, I completely forgot that you already mentioned how you did so.
Guess it's time to move to Desmume.

That new Soma pic does look kinda bad on the thumbnail, but it don't bother me in game. It's much better than what they had before.

Gave the HUD icons a try. If anyone can get more detail at this resolution, don't hesitate to do so. I think I made them somewhat recognisable, so that's something at least.

Only Dario and Dmitrii's portraits I think.

One of the main reasons I posted the beta patches here was because I wanted to see if people could bump into yet some unmodified portraits or other kind of imagery which still had the anime style.
The reason for this is that I found some images in a different offset of the ROM which still have some kind of anime style and seems to be similar to the portraits, I mentioned it in this post a few pages back, in which I said the following:

I was going through the ROM's data and I found something odd.
There seem to be some callbacks to the original portraits in 0x012FE600, there's one with Dimitrii's agonizing face and after that there's one with Mina.

I don't know if those two separate images are used anywhere in the actual game, that's why I released the patch, so that people could test it and let me know if there was anything odd or still missing.

Nah those are already implemented.

Once his/her rendition of Dario and Dmitrii are done, I'll make a proper hack page for DoS.
I'm still waiting to see if something else comes up though. You never know what might come up with a hack.

Sorry for slowing things down... I've been behind my weekly schedule with work and haven't had much time to work on other things 
So I'm glad ShadowOne did an updated patch with the portraits we got so far. I'm sure some of you will be satisfied with everything as it is

I'll make new portraits for Dariio and Dmitri first, but after that, I would like to touch up a couple of the others portraits already done (Mina, specially)... And maybe squeeze in a few variants too, at least the more impactful ones (like the 'defeated' varations of Celia, Dmitri, Dario, and crucified Mina)...

So PLEASE be patient, it'll come

Azulo, if i could suggest, could you just draw the art and then scan it and convert it? Your first version of that one girl was much better than the revised version you touched up. Initially you removed the outline, totally the opposite of what Ayumi Kojima has done.

Honestly, I'd prefer all the artwork were redrawn in the style of the first portrait.

I appreciate your feedback, but I really can't agree with the first one being better. The face converted very awkwardly to the smaller size, and the coloring didn't make a very good use of the available palete.

If darker outlines and "outlines consistency" is all that's bothering you, that can easily be modified on the later one. In fact, I would like to touch up the whole set to have consistent borders style once I finish doing the last few missing.

Well, if the consensus is to keep the revision, you should at least give it a black outline.

All the characters use black outlines.

Some of those outlines were added by me to aid the clarity of the spritework, and only the Arikado portrait has an actually black outline.

I guess I'll agree that the 1st pic isn't as colorful as the 2nd pic. But I think the black line should be added to keep it conformed to the other pics. If a black line is no longer azulo's style perhaps JohannGralog could do it.
