Wow, and this has what to do with what I wrote? Can you read? Should I have posted a gif instead of describing the scene?

That like 18 of the last 20 Sonic games were complete garbage has nothing to do with their genre or their color palette. This is desperation right there.

Details aside, my primary issue is that you have absolutely 0 tolerance for others' opinions. You have behaved this way the entire time I have known your posting habits on this forum.

You realize other people have opinions right? I mean, you don't literally consider yourself God of the Universe?
Yamero~~!

KaioShin

"Tolerance" lmao.

You can have any opinion you want. I don't really care if you find watching paint dry to be the most amazing thing on the planet. But this is a discussion board. If you post an opinion, expect people to comment on it. If that causes you social anxiety, I'd suggest keeping your opinions to yourself. If I write that game xyz is bad for some reason that is my opinion about the game. If you consider that a personal attack, that is your problem. It's sad that people get so invested in franchises and mascots that they take it personal how much other people approve of them.

Or is the old hat that people can't understand that anything posted on a board is a personal opinion and not a statement of absolute truth, even if not every single statement is followed by "in my opinion"?
All my posts are merely personal opinions and not statements of fact, even if they are not explicitly prefixed by "In my opinion", "IMO", "I believe", or similar modifiers. By reading this disclaimer you agree to reply in spirit of these conditions.

Comparing Sonic Fans to Homer Simpson is insulting in the extreme. Stop trying to wriggle out of it with fancy talk.

Yamero~~!

KaioShin

What would you compare people who get hyped again over a franchise that failed to meet expectations over and over to? Stephen Hawkins? Homer Simpson is not a real person. He is a cartoon character. That scene is hyperbolic commentary on repeating human behaviour. I'm sorry you don't appreciate the Simpsons.

If I HAD posted a gif instead of writing it out people would have understood it as a joke. I actually searched for a pic of the scene, couldn't find one.

You must be referring to Dr. Stephen Hawking.

Stop using words that hurt, Kaio. You're hurting people's inside feelings.

The only thing plotwise that I got attached to about Sonic games was in 3&K when they did the cutscenes.  It was handled perfectly, and even a little scene showing how they got to the next zone was just enough to feel like it was one big journey instead of just going zone-to-zone.

Exactly! That's all the plot one needs to see in a Sonic the Hedgehog game.

I thought KaioShin was staff but I see he's a hero member. I was gonna say staff should allow people to have opinions like liking the Sonic series but nevermind.

Hey. Staff are people too, man.

I just wanna be totally clear and copacetic in that I did not intend to upset anyone with my comments. Sorry if I was a bit harsh, Kaio.

He retired a while back from all positions except for IRC, much like myself.

lol have you seen the Sonic fanbase? Frankly, I'd be more sorry for Homer getting himself compared to them than vice versa.

Perhaps it is lost on you that I am a Sonic Fan. No, I don't keep up with most fandoms these days.

Are you a fan of the newer 3d games? It sounds like it, but they are just not good. I can assume that you like the 2d ones, just like everyone else, but I agree with Kaio in that Sega has really dropped the ball with the franchise. What are your thoughts on it?

Quote from: Spooniest on July 23, 2016, 05:33:05 PMThey're not cramming bajillions of characters in. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, done. Maybe there are secret characters if you collect 100 widgets or something. But keeping the character roster down to minimum and (presumably) keeping the story out of the way of going fast and smashing badniks are plusses in my book.
They already tried that in Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World, didn't they?

You all hurt my feelings, I like both Simpsons and Sonic, this is the best game ever done by a running man, my opinion rules, yours sucks!

Not only that, just by watching the trailer, there will be mud and blood this time... FURRY BLOOD! :D

I got Sonic Adventure and thought it was ok. Didn't care for the story bits.

I kind of got into rock music at that point and lost track of gaming...but uh, from everything I've heard, yeah, the franchise has been run (:D) into the ground.

But the thing in this trailer looks actually good for a change, I dunno why people gotta be unpleasant.

I don't blame them for hanging on. Some times it pays off. For example, I thought the first Aura Noir album was awesome but every time they released something after that I was always disappointed and almost gave up on them. Then, a few years ago they released "Out to Die" and suddenly they were firing on all cylinders again. Had I given up on them completely, I would have missed out on what may very well be my favorite album from 2012.

If they gave up too early they would have missed out on Sonic Generations. And now a Genesis Sonic officially sanctioned and sold homebrew/hack. Not to mention the supposed Sonic Generations sequel.

Psychlonic

All Sega has to do here is leave the team alone to make this game and make it correctly. It looks like a good game precisely because of who's developing it, but Sega still has the potential to pull a stupid and ruin it by forcing its release early, intervention, etc. Never underestimate Sega's ability to ruin anything. Their management lately is like the opposite of the hand of Midas.
Just another old and grumpy gamer. Don't mind me.

Definitely homebrew, its been programmed in headcannon engine probably (http://www.headcannon.com/HCGE/)
as for the remixed Green Hill I'm hoping for one of three things

A. Its just there as a test level
B. Its a bonus stage
C. Its part of an optional Retro mode
