We'll see in a week's time, until next Friday :)

A little info for the readers for the new bosses.   Some people may think Carmilla's Mask will be exact from Simon's Quest however of what I have planned for it will be completely different from any other version of Carmilla in the Castlevania series so she'll be unique.  Vampire Succubus will be similar to the one in SotN however different move sets so it can be another new, unique boss encounter.  Darkside from Belmont's Revenge will be similar however since this is the NES I'll design him slightly different though will be a bigger menace to face compared to its GameBoy counterpart.  Whatever is picked I'll design the winner and go over details with Optomon on how it can react while the player encounters it :)

Hi, can't wait for this hack. Simon's Quest was the first CV game I played. To be honest, I wish there was a CV2 hack that expanded on the way CV2 already is with the exploring... just add bosses, porkchops, make it harder, etc. CV2 feels like it's unfinished, like a rush job. Anyways, a linear version is great too. Hope it turns out well and doesn't take too long.

I think that was the purpose of Castlevania Bloodlust until it was put to the side for reasons unknown.  I've actually had people ask me lately to see if I can do a Simon's Quest hack very similar to that of Bloodlust.  Not sure if I'll do it because the editor for Simon's Quest hates it when something is lightly touched and won't recognize the ROM at all anymore.

If anyone even remotely decides to make a modern updated editor for Simon's Quest I might tackle it.  I'd just ask around for a programmer to help out for the bosses and redo a lot of the ASM so things can be different in it.  For now, Sephirous is doing the SQ remake in The Holy Relics so that's close enough :)

Bloodlust needs to come back in anyway shape or form,Im going to keep my fingers crossed for it but I wonder if it's possible for a remastered CVIII or a  CV using either the CVIII or Akumajo Densetsu engine, that would be even better! XD

Morinis

Was thinking about that a few years back and posted it someplace on here calling it Super Castlevania by using Castlevania 3.  No one else took up on the idea because its on Castlevania 3 (too much work) so I'll probably make that my next project after Umbral Genesis while I wait on the Akumajou Densetsu editor from two people for Legends NES.  Was going to tackle Harmony of Dissonance as well with LagoLunatic's editor :)

Tons of plans to do, especially a Super Castlevania IV project that is being brought back with bogaa in the future.  I'll probably do a joint thread for Super Castlevania and SCIV projects :)

Anyway, for CoA.  Nesfan is still working on music though things are slow since it is December.  Expect something in January unless something gets in the way :)

Awesome to hear Sinis & Im looking forward to playing Umbral Genesis in 2019,also I can wait for Legends Nes,a Harmony of Dissonance hack, sounds very interesting. :)

Ooooo,can't to see that. :D

Fair enough,I'll be looking forward to the new tracks. :)

Its been over a week and looks like the winner is Carmilla's Mask :)

After the holidays are over I'll begin working on the new boss to replace the Big Bat.  It will not be a copy and paste, expect something new for this boss encounter :)

Indeed, can't wait to see the sprite in 2019 and also what will be next after that sprite is done? :)

Since the other thread is dead. I'll post this here.

It's an engine test for Metroidvania. More just to show how it works, The graphics are not final as I am thinking of a different direction possibly. The title screen is complete however and the HUD.

Lovely & nice to see Sinis Pentagram boss in there too. :)

All bosses right now that are reskinned are rough drafts.  Their programming will be altered slightly along with attacks so things will be new.  Optomon told me months ago it was a trivial thing to do so they'll be edited :)

So, an update for Carmilla's Mask or I'm calling it Carmilla's Revenge.  You'll see why ;)

She isn't complete and wants a piece of the Belmont descendant of Simon :)

I am far from done in completing this boss encounter that will replace the Big Bat.  I have everything thought out, just need to design the rest along with the attacks :)

A hint.  Her mask cannot be broken as its invincible due to the item being cursed from being brought back from the dead as it made her gigantic due to this :P

Oh ho ho I didn't knew that, thanks for telling me that interesting tidbit Sinis,I can't wait to see what sort of new attacks the bosses will do when the game is ready. :)

DavidtheIdeaMan
