Need help with transliterating signs and spoken lines
« on: June 09, 2016, 06:10:26 am »
I am currently translating a horror game and I'm having trouble reading some signs and getting transliterations of spoken lines.

SIGNS:

Here is a sign with the name of a school. The last part of it is 学校, but what does the first two characters read? The second Kanji looks almost like 霊 to me...

The name of the school in the game is 月詠高等学校, but it doesn't look anything like it.

It's 屍霊学校.

There are three words written on these cardboard boxes. The ones I can read are the bottom left (教材) and the right (ワレモノ) ones, but what does the top left one say? The latter part of it has to be 本. And this item is found inside the stockroom of a school.

It's 標本.

SPOKEN LINES:

Most of the spoken lines have dialogue written to them or have hints written in the filename itself, but these I am having a hard time deciphering. Please click on the filenames to download the sound clips.

1.) 死に際.mp3
^ A voice clip of a girl being killed, so lots of screaming. The only lines I can make out is the obvious "やだ!" in the beginning, but the rest sounds like "私に???".

It's "やだ、私にわあああああああ".

2.) 生物教師.mp3
^ This sound clip will have weird reverberation! They called the flag for this one "咳について", so this line must be a part of the spoken dialogue. But what I can hear is:

咳についてください
これを???はじめます

It's "席についてください / これよりわはじまでます".

3.) 霊声男性.mp3
^ Contains weird reverberation and very guttural sounds! I'm not too sure if there are any spoken lines in here mixed in with the guttural noises, but I wanna make sure.

Could be "待って".

Thanks in advance to those who help me out!

EDIT: Thanks, Euclid, for helping me get these!

The sign looks like it says 屍霊学校 - without actually playing the game it's pretty hard to guess what the first word is, 屍 is more appropriate fit there as it means corpse.

The top left box says 標本 - specimen.

Voice clips - oh boy these are hard.
First one sounds like panic, I think she was going to pronounce something but was cut off.
やだ、私にわあああああああ (maybe she got stabbed here!)

Second one
席についてください
これよりわはじまでます
Translates to please take a seat, it'll be starting soon.

Third one has no spoken lines (or just grumbling)

Thank you so much for the help, Euclid! I will also give you credit in the game because I couldn't do this alone!

Yeah, I can agree. It looks like this name has no real relevance to the school just other than to be creepy.

I was just listening to it again, I can barely hear out "待って".

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got some more voice clips that I need deciphering. The "れ・" is part of the girl's name. The rest are some hints as to what the rest of the lines are.

れ・こんなのは.mp3
^ Is she saying "こんなのはどこな"? It's "こんなのはどうかな?".

れ・じっくり甚振る.mp3
^ Is she saying "じっくり甚振るやるよ?" It's "じっくり甚振ってやるよ".

れ・血が.mp3
^ Is she saying "血がいたい?" It's "血がいっぱい".

れ・次はどこを.mp3
^ I can't get the rest, it's definitely "次はどこを???" It's "次はどこを攻めてやろうか?"

Thanks, jink640!

れ・こんなのは.mp3 - Could be ”こんなのはどうかな?” - How is this?

れ・じっくり甚振る.mp3 - Maybe ”じっくり甚振ってやるよ” - I will torment (someone) carefully/slowly.

れ・血が.mp3 - 血がいっぱい - Full of blood.

れ・次はどこを.mp3 - Sounds like ”次はどこを攻めてやろうか?” - What/where should we attack next?

These are rather direct translations, and these may not all be correct. I am by no means an expert on the language.

What game is this for?

Thank you so much! Now I got an idea of what she is saying.

What game is this for?
It's an RPG Maker VX game called Ghost School.
