Recent Gaming Purchases Thread II: Electric Bucksaloo
« on: May 06, 2016, 12:27:26 am »
Reviving an old thread I found when looking for something else.

I bought Suikoden 2 and 3 off PSN in the hopes that eventually they'll throw 4 and 5 up on PS3 at some point so I can complete the collection. I also got Ocarina of Time 3D now that it's dirt cheap in the hopes I can finally finish a 3D Zelda game and break my curse.

Too bad you got a shitty one. Get TP, it's a far better game.

Found a copy of Breath of Fire 3 for PSP at a pawn shop for 2 bucks. I haven't played this game since the PS1 days, so I've been thoroughly addicted to it.

So far, I haven't even gotten to the part where you break into Bunyan's house, due to putting Rei (tiger dude) in the front of the Attack Formation and going on a Pilfer spree. Free herbs and waistcloths for everyone!

Can't wait to get the mutant onion guy and turn him into a super-extreme-mega-tank. Never thought he was useful at all back in the day, but apparently you can make him the most extreme character in the game if you find the right master.  :D

'Been resisting purchase time and again for months.
Bought XCom2 the other day but my PC won't run it. Yikes.
Thus happily benefiting from those translations I never took time to finish before. ;D

Aw, man! The temptation of PS4 is big... What else do you run on that system?

I've been thinking of getting this one for awhile now. Is it good?

I know I'm not the guy you're asking this to, but Dying Light, Transformers Devastation, Bloodbourne*, and the GTA 5 remake are all absurdly enjoyable titles. Especially Dying Light.

The Remastered version of The Last of Us is pretty amazing as well, though it's better being played through before being spoiled by the epicness of any of the above mentioned games. Still a fun game regardless.

*Bloodbourne is also absurdly hard at points, and the load times can get aggrivating if you die often (especially if being played shortly after Dying Light, which have some of the shortest post-death loading screens I've seen in a game).

I haven't popped in Until Dawn yet, but I plan to this week (vacation yay). I'll get back to you then.

@BlackDog: The only game I've been actively playing is Bloodbourne in all honesty. I have Destiny and Uncharted Collection as well, but I didn't play either much. If you skipped the PS3 gen there are lot's of good ports like Last of Us as Bahamut Zero suggested. To be 100% honest, I've been pretty disappointed with the PS4 so far. But an English SRW will make it all good ;D

Picked up Mega Man Legacy Collection on Humble Bundle. The sale extends through tomorrow morning, I believe.

I'd made some disparaging remarks about the system requirements but now that I have a better computer, the point is rather moot.

Though, I wish there were more unlockables...oh, well, can't have it all.

Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault (Vita)
Battlefield Gothic Armada (PC)

No, still haven't played Until Dawn. Ended up playing Stellaris instead (see Victoly thread).

Those are all pretty good deals, but I think the servers for LP 2 are down. Damn I loved that game.

I was able to snag an extra copy of Kenzan at the local shop. $5 plus tax  :P

Found Breath of Fire 4 for 3 bucks at a pawn shop. disc was scratched to hell and back, but I was able to make a working ISO of it! Now I can make an eboot to put on my PSP when I finally manage to kill the last boss in BoF3.  :D

Pawn shops ftw!

Got my tax refund check, cuz I did actually work a bit last year, contrary to what I thought. Didn't realize I'd earned a refund, I mean.

But it wasn't much, so I decided to blow it on these games. :D

  • Sonic The Hedgehog (PS3)
  • Sonic CD (PS3)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2)
  • Metal Gear Solid (PSOne Classic)
  • Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara (PC)
