Castlevania Prince of Darkness sounds pretty awesome. I've never been a huge Castlevania fan but this one seems like it would definitely be worth a try.

There've got to be over 100 bugfixes for Final Fantasy VI at this point.

Gracious gravy that's a lot of bugs.

Wouldn't make more sense to make a great big bugfix hack, rather than submit hundreds of individual patches?

Honestly, it's clogging up the FFVI hack section.

Perhaps it could be given its own subsection somehow? Geez.

I think an additional "Bug and glitch fixes" section would be a nice addition to avoid cluttering the Hacks section.

The problem is that not all patches actually cooperate together in one bag, so you can't just lump them all together into one big patch most of the time.  So it's better to just keep the "mix and match" ideal.  The closest to an FFVI hack getting all the patches in when it comes to complete is probably Relocalization Project.  There was another one that attempts to bring it all together along with the hacker remaking some patches himself, but last I checked it wasn't done yet and had major bugs.

A person could start checking this by opening the patches up in IPS Peek and noting the addresses that are effected. That would give you at least some indication of which patches are automatically incompatible.

It's nice to know I'm not the only person that game has driven nuts.

I'm quoting myself here just to add something.

...And a person could compare those areas with an unmodified ROM to see whether some are incompatible simply because they tried to put new code in what was originally (the same) unused space in the original ROM.

There actually is an all bug-fix patch on the Slick Productions forum's Game Modification Station. It's updated regularly. Only problem is that you don't have the choice of which patches you get. It's all together, after all.

Oh, and I'm the maintainer, but that's beside the point. ;P

On a positive note, at least we know that bugs are crawling around that game and gets documented individually.   ::)

In terms of sheer numbers, FF6 has more bugs than probably any other jRPG on the SNES, even if only three to five are truly significant.

I've heard numbers between 200-300. Meaning most likely more bugfixes patches will see the light of the day. CVReynolds patch is the only alternative if you strictly want a bugfix compilation. I liked darkmage's improvement project up until last year but he screwed up with the opera scene retranslation (which shouldn't be in a bugfix compilation patch anyway).

The count was over 300 last I checked several years ago.

All games are buggy.
The difference is that with popular games, people bother to find them.

Eh, true, but deconstructions of other super popular and also complex games don't have nearly as many. See FF4 which has far, far far less and is just as RE'd at this point.
