Odd thing with SNES text
« on: May 02, 2016, 01:50:47 am »
I have noticed on a few games (G.O.D, Seiken Densetsu 3, Ball Bullet Gun) that when the text comes up, the screen becomes somewhat fuzzy. I have also noticed that the emulator text (Snes9x) becomes smaller. Does this only happen on emulators or does it happen on the actual hardware as well?

SD3 uses a rarely used resolution for its text. Maybe the other games do as well and SNES9x isn't coping very well?

Turn off "Blend Hi-Res Images" in the Display Configuration.

If you have any trepidation, this is not normal behavior for the SNES (Applying bilinear filtering to hi resolution images), so switching it off should do no harm to your experience.

Snes9x also uses the console's current resolution to display text, so any game that uses hi-res or interlaced modes will make things like framerate/input displays become narrower or smaller.
