It's still amazing progress! Originally I thought I wouldn't get to play this game until machine translation improved. I'll be waiting patiently for the finished product, keep up the good work!

We've been working on that ourselves already with our own webpage. While it isn't quite full of information just yet, it does have a project page and a short getting started with emulating PC-98 page.

The multiple endings are if you choose the wrong way to evolve. Basically if you do something like distribute your points to only a single stat and keep evolving in that direction the game will throw a message at you and then tell you a little story about why your species went extinct, then say game over. There's only one real ending though, the rest are game overs.

I think the manual says there are about 60 different game over stories.

Well, if you get those messages at the 'end' of the game, then they are really bad endings.

Now, if you get them in the middle of the game, then they are game overs yes.

Someone else has already released an .HDI of this game. We'll release a patch for the 5-disk .FDI version as well as the single .HDI at the same time.

The .HDI is particularly nice because you can play it on real hardware, too. Our graphic designer SkyeWelse has a PC-98, and he got our translation running on his machine just fine a few weeks ago.

We've started beta testing on the patch now, which means translation and typesetting are practically done and we're trying to put the last level of polish on the game before public release by setting a number of new eyes on it.
