YY-CHR black screen

hi i am doing a graphic/level hack of smw i am using lunar magic an YY-CHR i have extracted the gfx from the ROM butwhen i put it into YY-CHR its just black screen (well not completely black theres also some grey) please help. also if you know how to change it from Japanese to English that would be great

Double check what graphics format it's set to. You'll probably either need it to be in 3BPP SNES or 4BPP SNES. And to get the right palettes, make a save state (I use ZSNES) and load that with the "load emulator state file" option.
