7th Saga Rom Editor

Hi, for the last few days, I've been working on this tool to edit 7th Saga rom data... so, here you go.

There may be some bugs and stuff, so feedback is appreciated.

You can edit many things with it: characters, monsters, items, equipment etc. At the moment, you can't edit names... I was just lazy to implement that for now

Does the editor read the text directly from the ROM to populate data for item/armor/character/spell names? Like, if I changed the text for the spell "FIRE" would that be read back into the editor, or does it just use the default names?

It reads the text from the rom. The only issue is that I need to use a table translate the offsets to characters to display the names properly, since the game doesn't use a ASCII table like some games do (like Lufia 2, I think). Editing the names wouldn't be hard. I'd just have to make sure the editor ensures that the name only contains characters that can be understood by the game.

Great work!  I won't lie, I'm skeptical of someone being able to make a better hack of 7th Saga than the FF-style version, but this game definitely needs some hacking generally.

That's quite unlikely... I have no idea how maps are stored in 7th Saga.

As I said in the previous post, the heavy work was done by Dr. Fail, because he's the one who found all the adresses in the ROM. All I did was create a tool that could allow anyone to change those easily

This is still a very appreciated and sought after accomplishment. I myself have been waiting for this for a few years now and have embarrassingly bugged a few users who were potentially going to do just this. Thank you so much for making this tool

Never mind, I had a registry error with my OCX file, I fixed it and I can use the editor now! Yay!
