I have not really gone much beyond sprite hacks for the TG16/PCE at this point and tend not to use pointer programs I have not coded for a specific purpose. Likewise the CD stuff was optical media so you probably get to play that according to general CD hacking.
Generally though most pointers will be related to the hardware in question, at least until you get to the filesystem stuff and then it gets file related (or possibly still memory related)

I should also point out the Super System Card stuff which 8.1) of the above sorts, it does expand the RAM.
So yeah looks like your standard bank and page thing. I doubt you will find much in the way of intelligent programs that will try to keep track of things but if you now the page you want and the bank that is mapped at the point in runtime you care about then you have fairly standard looking 16 bit pointers.
