I wonder if you're gonna do the same thing with Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

Unless of course, somebody has already done it.

Little suggestion/request: can you add "A Hideo Kojima Game" somewhere in the title screen? You know, as a tribute or something.

I agree with you DarioEMeloD, Konami may own the Metal Gear series... but let not forget the man who helped create it in the first place.

Hmm. I'm just noticing that this is getting a lot of comments lately, but none from the author. Hope he's still in the game.
Cigarettes, ice-cream, figurines of the Virgin Mary...

^ Maybe he's either:

A) Taking an unnanounced break

B) Having some RL situations that is impeding his progress (but still working on it), and again, not telling us in the process

C) Doing his progress secretely, and waiting for a big surprise

or D) Something happened to him, that he decided to give up, and let someone take the baton and do what he was doing before with this project.*

*From scratch, of course.

Those are my possible theories.

This is something I'd love to see get completed. A reinvented NES Metal Gear would be great.

Hey Jonesy47, this is really cool (I actually made this account to post on this thread) and I was wondering if you will actually make the alarm keep going to other screens. Snake's Revenge did it and, correct me if I'm wrong, but the original MSX version did it to, again, I could be wrong there. I think that it'll make things a little harder. Besides that, so far everything looks real good.

That depended on how many exclamation marks appeared on a guard's head when you got spotted. If only one exclamation mark appeared, you could just escape just by moving to the next screen. It's when two exclamation marks appeared when the alert phase follows you everywhere until you got into an elevator or kill every reinforcement.

Double exclamation marks were not in the NES Metal Gear, but they were in Snake's Revenge along with ammo/ration drops when you punch guards to death. I'm curious to see if the creator of this hack plans on implementing them at some point.
