How about a new intro screen in the same vein as Doki Doki Panic?

There is no way to make a patch that requires 2 roms?
Or 2 patches

Not a standard patch, no, but there's always a way.  You could write a program that uses one ROM to generate a patch for another ROM.  Of course, you'd probably have to make the source available so that people who don't have a Windows PC can still run the program if they want to.

OMG  This looks and sounds amazing, did you abandon the game project?  This was always a dream come true to me, to have this as 2 Players and added features..  Please dont give up!

I'd like to see pics or video of the 2 player mode.

No, this project has not been abandoned.  It is merely on hold, and scaled back because of time and workload.  It would be a Two-Player hack with SaveRAM functionality.  The Free Casino, Sound Test, and the extra world have been scrapped.

The project already has the two-player functionality in it.  I would have shown a video of it a long time ago, but until I did some extra programming, you wouldn't really be able to tell from a video.

In the meantime, I have released a Standard Mario Patch for SMB2.  You can get it here: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,23659.0.html

There is another method of doing two player; a tag out system.  I already have an incomplete instant character switching thing so I'm sure that's at least possible.  Consider making this an alternate mode!

I'd love to see a two player hack of SMB2! Are you still working on this?
