I had Windows 7 and MegaFLE X and Capcom Sprite Assembler works perfectly. But my HD died and had to replace it, however I have all my files on an external HD. I recently got a new HD and got Windows 8 for its OS. Sadly, the fore mentioned utilities doesn't work anymore. I keep getting this message on BOTH utilities

QuoteRun-time error '339':

Component 'COMCT232.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
Can anyone run these utilities using Windows 8? If so, how do you made them work?

I feel as if that one is a part of the vb runtime. Try installing that?

I got these sort of errors when installing programs on the site from time to time. Simply search the file "COMCT232.OCX" on your favorite search engine and download it. Once downloaded place COMCT232.OCX in the folder of the programs and try running them. I believe this method got my program to work along with running it in administrator mode.
Which folder do I place the ocx file? iirc I placed in under Local Disk (C:)\Windows\System32 when I was on Win7. I tried it now on Win8, still not working.

I redownloaded MegaFLE X and it has the COMCT232.OCX. But it still doesn't work, not sure WHERE to place it specifically.

I wouldn't know, sorry. I don't do vb deployment. Or development. Or use it at all.

Try troubleshooting the compatibility, the option is available via right click. See if that works.
It doesn't work either, same error message appears. It appears that its compatibility mode always starts with Windows 7 by default.
Maybe I should've got myself a Win7 OS again instead of Win8.  :'(

I feel like the error has something to do with that osx file........ or maybe not.

put the file in the same directory as the executable. if that does not work you will need to use a virtual machine.

Hoo-yeah now it works again! Just like Chpexo said I just need to place the ocx file in System32 and run as admin on the Megaflex app, also worked for CSA! Thanks!
