Patches for Final Fantasy VI Advance
« on: February 02, 2015, 08:31:39 am »
Hi !

I'm searching for all the patches for FFVI Advance from this page but it's not available : http://web.archive.org/web/20131205064648/http://novaliaspirit.99k.org/ff6/patches.html.

Does someone have this patches ?

Thanks.

I think darkvadd7 means NovaliaSpirit's regular page, http://novaliaspirit.99k.org/ff6/patches.html

It's been down for some time now.
All my life I've tried to fight what history has given me.

I had no clue there were so many other patches for the GBA version. :o

There's a lot of important ones here, but some of these look like they need to be in as well.  I wonder if anyone has a copy on hand?

Wow! I didn't even realize FFVI-Advance even had those issues if they're are all fixes. Wouldn't it be better to combine all of them together into one patch instead?

I think this is pretty important to investigate.

Yeah, it's been known for a good while now that Advance didn't fix every bug in the game.  Even with this SNES still has more.

In Advance's case I can actually see a combined bugfix being a reality as the only "big" patch that could collide with fixes is the sound patch.  I don't know how many more patches for GBA are out there.

Can anyone tell me what exactly these fixes do? I'm curious about the broken gate fix.

IIRC all of these patches also shared an SNES version which should therefore also be hosted elsewhere with other SNES bugfixes.  If you look them up I'm sure you'll find at least the description on a relevant site or compilation of bugfixes.  You can find the GBA-specific freespace used with IPSPeek if you want to compile a detailed readme.  There's so many of these that frankly I find it difficult to keep track of them, in spite of the memorable names for them.

Also a rage fix for GBA was just put up on RHDN, just an FYI on the side.  We should probably at least get these up on here alone as soon as we find them and a description, since the original host went boom.

EDIT: And suddenly about six more patches have been updated with GBA versions.  Whoopee!  Mostly minor ones, but hey now GBA has Backstabu.
