Hello

Can I play boss like Shredder or another, any method to play by bosses ?

Thanks

furrykef

Playing as a boss would require too many sprites to be on the screen. Notice that you never fight a boss while other enemies are on the screen in the NES TMNT games, even though this was possible in the arcade version. Now consider you'd need up to double that many sprites when your boss is facing another boss.

This sort of thing might be more practical in the arcade or SNES TMNTs. It's probably still not very practical, though.

It can be done, it's simply a matter of How Bad do you Want It?

We'll I haven't peaked at the rom, but if shredder is the same size as the turtles graphically, it might not be totally unfeasible, at least in theory. I mean the game is designed for two turtle players, isn't it?

Sounds like he's new to ROM hacking and English isn't his first language so I'm gonna say "No".

But if anybody want's to make a worthwhile hack of this game, change it to where your special attack doesn't hurt YOU as well as the enemies. It would make the game easier (whether THAT'S good or bad is up for debate) but I think it would make the game a lot more fun because of the serious lack of moves. I love the classic TMNT games but only having 3 or so attacks for an entire game just sucks. Gets pretty tedious near the end, especially if you go at it solo.

If emulating it, there are cheat codes to make exactly that happen. That could be an alternative.

I like the high risk, high reward it has going though. It can't kill you.

Yeah, that's right. I just looked up the Game Genie codes. "AAESYXAA No energy loss from using turbo attack" Sounds like the right prescription.

On a side note, emulators are lame. Real hardware or die. >:D

It should only hurt you if the special attack MISSES.

Still own my original copy of this game, and my Game Genie if I need it.
