So after scouring ff6hacking for threads about how to put a spell animation over a weapon slot ive found nothing. I was however able to do it the only issue is everytime I play the animation the character steps back further and further each time. I've replaced the mithril claw with the pummel blitz animation. It is sexiness, but that glitch is annoying and I figure people here have more expertise with overall hex editing etc and may be able to tell me where to get rid of the step back after attack command for that particular weapon.

Would be neat if someone came up with an ff6 animation tool

It's not a glitch at all. What's happening is there isn't an even amount of step-forward/step-back calls. The Blitz command issues the "step-forward" command, while the Blitz animation calls the "step-back" portion. Weapon swings do not have a "step-forward" call, since you just jump forward and land with the swing.

You would have to either hack in a "step-forward" or hack out the "step-back," but either will work. Sadly, I know nothing of the animation script other than it is a convoluted mess.
