Whelp, it looks like I broke my save file! Kids, don't use the door glitch from vanilla to get into the higher areas early. You can't get back out once you go through one of the doors, and if you save the game after descending on the platform you'll be stuck for good. Whoops. Guess I deserved that ha ha.

The Rooser

Just getting started on this but good job, team! The design work is pretty cohesive so this feels like more than just the sum of its parts. I'm normally into more "nostalgic" hacks and not these total conversion jobs but this one really nails it. I really liked the graphic design work on Grimlock's Incursion hack but the level design was a bit too easy and linear and short; its nice to see a more complete effort here.

LittleRollBot

Just finished playing it. Only got 50% of the items too.

Spoiler
The Grim picker, and the giant Metroid statue were interesting easter eggs!

Over all this was a really great hack. Some of the designs made it hard to tell where you can stand or if you could pass through and the constant warping puzzles got kind of old fast, but everything else was so amazing that those really don't hurt the experience much. Plus those may have just bothered me more than anything else. You guys all did amazing work, loved the new music and ending! Hope to play more Metroid hacks of yours in the future. I've enjoyed the ones you've done so far!

Its 'bout time! *opened zip file* oh okay, where's the .NSF files? Instead, the music is so awesome.

Well, I finished up the main core area. It was much larger than I thought. I guess I need to figure out where to go next.

So i can patch over version 1.0 to 1.10? Or do I need a clean rom again? Keep in mind I haven't started playing yet

You need to do a clean patch.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, definitely appreciated!

Known bugs V1.10:

Spoiler
1. Health charger on planet surface appears to work intermittently.  I have confirmed that the first encounter with the one in the water area sometimes does not work.  If you leave and then return it appears to work fine.

2. There is one item not marked on the pause map that got over looked (it's on the planet surface in the region below the left elevator)

3. A small number of permastucks have been found on the planet surface (cavern area), Note: you are very unlikely to get stuck in them during normal play.

4. There may be one item E-Tank item that is not tracked properly once you save (you lose it and it becomes available to acquire again).  This one is redundant and hidden so you can still get the main 6 E-Tanks no problem.  This may however lower your final item collection to 98% if you collected it and then beat the game instead of getting 100%.  This is reported but not confirmed, it could be an issue with the PowerPak, we're checking it out.

Will there be a new version of Editroid released later on?

This looks amazing---however, I see there are a few kinks being worked out still, so I'm gonna wait for a more final patch

Still, very much looking forward to playing the daylights out of this!

Yeah - you don't want to risk encounter a bug and have to contribute by reporting it.

Better wait until others have done everything for you...

:woot!: Sweet, congratulations!  You're the first 100% to post!  :woot!:

Do you think it's possible to fix the zoomers from getting stuck? It happens when they're crawling and hit a 90 degree angle or when scrolling sometimes. I imagine when it gets stuck you could just do a simple check to see if the enemy is stuck moving in opposite directions rapidly then erase the entity. I know it's not really that important, but it would at least look a little nicer and wouldn't involve you trying to fix the game physics. Lol I know it's lame that my first post is a complaint, but I love your hack so far. I'm enjoying this a billion times more than the original metroid. I was more of a fan of metroid II so it was hard to go back and play the first game for me.

It's an existing issue with the M1 game engine.  It's not on our list at the moment, unfortunately we can't fix all of the M1 bugs due to time requirements or we never would have made it to a final release.  We'll have to live with some imperfections.

I made a complete run once again and I'm quite satisfied with the results. I didn't find any game-breaking bug. I like what you did with the Polyps. I managed to do 83% completion in about 3.5 hours. I went into the last zone with all power-ups, 6 energy tanks, but "only" 220 missiles...

Seeing that there are people here asking for help, I suggest we split this thread into two distinct threads: this one for bug reports, and a new one for help and hints on the game. What do you think?
