Found a door leading nowhere (in the derelict spaceship) - if that's not intentional I can post a screenshot (I can hack myself into the credits if this turns out to be a bug)

Also - am I supposed to find the space-jump somewhere?

Send me a PM thanks

Quote from: Grimlock on January 14, 2017, 12:01:20 PMWow, how does anyone submit anything here!!! I even used the "Scratchpad" to upload my files.  I must have wasted 2 hours trying to submit the patch... and it got dropped off the queue???

I feel your pain. Submitting anything to this site is like pulling teeth with no anesthetic. You are not alone in your frustration.
Cigarettes, ice-cream, figurines of the Virgin Mary...

Submitting an update should be easy now that the patch has a listing.

I think I will wait for the completion of this public beta phase before trying this one out. It is a little disappointing but a few more months for a polished product is nothing compared to the years of waiting for this.

If I´m supposed to be able to jump up here, then there is a bug in lining up the vertical scroll in the 1.0 version:

I´m using the emulator Nestopia by the way.

Spoiler
You have to get on this screen by different way. And then you will have vertical scrolling here. There is some other puzzle that involves this technique

Spoiler
Yes but you have to take a different route that changes the scrolling to vertical, you end up ascending up through the lava.  Look at the pause map, I altered the graphics to try to hint at that.

EDIT: chikadubi beat me too it  ;)

I like that original metroid clips still didn't  fixed. I was thinking that it would be to hard to fix so i really was hoping that they won't.
Spoiler
You still can go for early ice beam and spring ball. You use door clip and then freeze some enemies to get spring ball. I like that

So my sequence of getting upgrades look like this:
Spoiler
High Jump -> Bombs -> Ice Beam -> Spring Ball -> Screw Attack -> Varia -> Wall Jump -> Wave Beam. You can go for Ice beam first, but it's to hard

Can't wait until serious speedrunners start routing this game. It would be so great for speedruns. Because there is everything you want. There is legal tricks, there is damage boosts, there is tricky parts, there is glitches.

Hmm - finally went the correct path and the scroll lined up.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of this quirky kind of puzzle, since I spend an hour or so looking for a non existing SpaceJump power-up...

That said, gfx and music is top notch - great work!

Yea, I wasn't sure about it either so I limited it to one spot in the game.  I almost removed it.

Spoiler
EDIT, that open area a couple screens to the left is a potential short cut but it's tough, you have to freeze the enemy and jump off of it, you can skip almost the entire area.  I can see how it might make people think there should be a space jump though.

Also i recommended to play this with last version of fceux or mesen and maximum overclock (999 extra scaliness) and "Allow more than 8 sprites on scanline". It would 1000% better experience. 999 extra scanlines so extreme that even microfreezes didn't happens so it would unimaginably smooth. Highly recommended to check it.

Looks great, just a small suggestion for the upload. Make the readme in UTF-8 encoding.

Tater Bear

Why does the readme say "completion date: 1/17/2017"? Will a bug free version get released in 3 days? LOL

There's a lot of games with different versions like 1.0, 1.1, (U) vs [E] vs [J], etc. No need to be smarmy. It's a perfectly legit question.

To answer said question, I'd imagine it's going to be (U). I could only find one version of that, and since the [J] version is for the Famicom Disk System I doubt that'd be the one.
Apply to Metroid (U) or Metroid (USA), that is all you need to know.  Pretty much the info on the release page.

I'm stuck after getting the Metroid container from the area with the astronaut guys. I only have the High Jump Boots, Morph Ball Bombs, & the Suit. It'd be nice if someone could point me in the right direction and also provide locations of the remaining powerups.

Spoiler
Go back to the main pirate ship and go to the power core, that will lead to the other area.  Also use the pause map for additional markers not shown in the corner map

EDIT:

Updated version 1.10 is now available for download.

Looks like the dummied Samus leg. I looked through the ROM just now in YY-CHR and there were a lot of Samus legs left unused in there. One of them must be called on in this map. It's a simple fix of going through the ROM and replacing all of Dawn's sprites with a flipped right leg.
Check out and discuss my projects

What an odd leg... (left leg)

Looks like a patching or emulation issue.  That's not normal and definitely not something we would have missed, lol.  ;)

Yea, it was late when I was working on the final readme, I guess my eyes were starting to cross or something, lol.  :o

Thanks for pointing that out I'll change it in any future updates.
