SNES9x is great for a Snes emu.

Higan is unstable as heck.

I just put that emulator on my rig recently and it is far better and more stable than Higan. byuu just screwed his emulator up to the point of what the heck? I remember it just had SNES, NES, and some addons but then he started adding DS, GBA, and other stuff as well as using a third-party program just so Higan can find the damn roms?! WTF?!

I actually prefer a lot of the emulators on the Wii. With a CRT television, they support 240p mode, and almost look like the real thing.

On PC, you can use a real controller.

You don't have to use the Wiimote; you can use Gamecube controllers, or Classic Controllers (although I wish they weren't wireless), and I think a lot of emulators actually support USB gamepads.

BTW, (probably) no one is going to port AM2R to SM. The amount of work required is huge, plus you can just hook up your computer to a TV. And no, you don't need a very good computer to use Higan, my laptop can handle it fine as long as you use balanced or performace, which is anything before 0.99, and SNES9X is perfectly fine, as long as its 1.5X. Also is a repro cart even technically legal? Not saying to not go for it, just a legitmate question that is probably a simple answer.

Hard to say. Probably one of those grey areas. I know Nintendo hated and never authorized the Game Genie but that didn't stop Galoob from making them even when Nintendo brought in the lawyers.

Anyway, back to the original topic; we found a few issues during our initial testing (play through before passing the beta out) that we're actively correcting. We want to make sure that there aren't any game crashing issues or obvious permastuck issues. Most of it is now corrected, we just have a couple issues remaining to iron out before passing it on.

C'mon, release some beta so we can help you finding issues, I agree Rogue Down will be incredibly awesome, so it is for sure that I'll play it for months maybe (like the other original Metroids) then if there any issues I can find them

The defects are blocking issues which means they prevent the player from being able to complete the game.

Speaking of Metroid II somewhere in previous posts.

I wouldn't mind seeing it ported to the NES but the original way it was made, I wouldn't think AM2R would be a logical port to the NES being as advanced as it was.

One of the pet peeves I have had since the days of Super Metroid, is hoping to see the first two games remade using the graphics that were seen in the cinematic intro during Super Metroid's Prologue.

Which was done essentially with Metroid Zero Mission and AM2R so it did happen basically. Not to mention the Super Metroid Zero Mission Hack which I still think Mother Brain's Ghost Battle was simply phenomenal and unexpected.

Metroid - Rogue Dawn looks awesome. I can't wait to see what the game has to offer and what bosses etc are going to appear. It's nice to get a prequel.

It looks like we have the game breaking issues worked out. I took the opportunity to work on the main player sprite and animation also. I think it's going to be as good as we're going to get with the NES and Metroid engine limitations with the amount of time we're able to put into it currently.
