It reminds me as well I need to play the GBA Metroids now that they work flawlessly on my OUYA emulators. Also, I need to complete Super Metroid one of these days. I did lock myself on a trivial part of the game and was not able to find a way out... never figured what to do.

and yes.. the anticipation is truly a killer.. I want this soo bad. I´d say that Metroid for NES is a superb game with insense battles and high difficulty as it should be!

This hack will be soo awesome!

I really don't want to harm anyone feelings, but I never was capable (or committed) to truly play METROID 1 on NES. The original game look — in my opinion — not well designed. It is too difficult and almost boring, with that endless screen levels...

I started loving Metroid on SNES and GBA.

No hard feelings

we cant all feel the same about everything

.. IMO the SNES version didnt live up to the original for me..but thats just my opinion

But yes, when you were young and had NO help whatsoever games on the NES tended to be very frustrating, but that only made it more exciting once u gained a new ability or spell in a game

.. Im thinking of zelda II which also was extremely difficult for a youngster

NEStroid is really easy, but boring indeed. I played only a little bit of it, but what I love about Metroid is the progression, not only in level design, but also in Samus. The abilities, and becoming stronger, is the most fun part in Metroid, to me (along with the environment).

NEStroid doesn't have much abilities, and the environment isn't that interesting. I just play Zero Mission. That was my first Metroid game.

Zelda II was one of my first — let's say — RPG game! I did complete it even with almost zero knowledge on English language (my natural language is Portuguese).

I just felt Metroid on NES boring and tiring. I loved to play games at those times and build mpas with pen and paper, however Metroid did not work for me.

I remember mapping completely Zelda 2, Goonies 2, Final Fantasy 1 and the most heroic act of my life, mapping completely ULTIMA: EXODUS. It did took arouns 5 months to complete the game, just because I can't find Ambrosia lost continent entrance anywhere. I still have nightmares with that NPC quote: "Ambrosia lies beyond the whirlpool..."

I still love playing the first Mega Man games on the NES. They've aged so much better than Metroid.
So colorful, so many unique enemies and bosses. Every stage has unique music. Every stage has an unique tileset and theme. And it didn't limit to just 'Fire Stage' or 'Water Stage'. Nay, you had 'Eastern Palace' theme and 'Atlantis' theme.

It's a great machine, too bad it needs modding to get silent! Im using a 120mm fan at the bottom and removed the 40mm fan inside! Works great and completely silent.

Its great! too bad I had to modd it in order to be quiet. Putted an 120 mm silent fan under it and removed the 40mm stock fan

now I cant hear it ever!

and yeah, sucks it doesnt have enough power to play x.265 videos

but other than that its a perfect emulator/Media player!
