No different faces, that's the downside.

Oh, and I've recoloured Alucard's palette to the CrystalTile2 palette by hand, inserted it, and it works:

HELL YES!
The Arikado sprite looks awesome!
Finally, Dawn of Sorrow as it should have been, with proper Castlevania artwork!

Really good work you did there.
What is the difference in the Status screen you uploaded?

You might want to think of a name for the hack.
Something like C: Sprites of Dignity XD

No changes in the status screen yet, it's simply part of the screenshot.

Arikado is perfect, the other portraits don't quite reach that quality sadly. Transparency issues have also reduced the palette by one colour in a lot of them. After I'm finished with importing everything, I'll probably redo the worst ones.

One colour here is transparent, for example:

I might simply paste AoS Soma's head on it, I suppose.

Looks great. Although I can notice some greenish pixels in the portriat, is that due to the conversion process?

Also, we can use this for Soma's mad face/turning into Dracula:

Is the Aria of Sorrow Dracula, though. Let me see if I can edit it into the Dawn of Sorrow coat with no fur.

EDIT:
Ok so I edited it a little bit and this is the result:

It's a quick edit I did with simplistic tools, nothing sofisticated, but since the image will be reduced in size to fit the portrait in game, then I think this is quite good for the job.
I hope this helps to complete the portraits for Dawn of Sorrow.
If there is anything else I can do to help, let me know.

Are you determined to do all the graphics yourself or do you welcome some outside help? I have a lot of experience with pixel art; For example, here's a partially cleaned up Soma after passing it through Photoshop's indexed color filter:

If you don't mind the outside help, then I can do some more cleanup work on this.

I welcome all outside help. I really have no experience with all of this, I'm just doing this because nobody else had done it before. That is really looking good. I've been doing it by hand, mostly, and some GIMP filters that limited the amount of colours.

Took a bit of time, but I finished cleaning up Soma! ;D

I won't be able to do more work for now, but I'll keep up with the thread.

I'm sure I speak for many Castlevania fans out there who were disappointed with the anime style art in DOS and POR. Thanks so much for doing this. ;D

You just made me almost make a heart attack.

Seeing it in the game also made me that effect back then.

Sorry to bump this up, but I was wondering what happened to this project?
This one really looked promising and I was really looking forward to it.

Apparently he finished it and kept it to himself.

No, I haven’t finished it all. I didn’t manage to find a way to speed up the palette swapping, and my studies have been sucking away a lot of my free time.

I’m not sure where you heard that I kept this to myself.

Maybe ShadowOne333 could help you. He has started his own project of changing the sprites in Dawn of Sorrow, as he thought you quit your own.
