If you want to develop stockholm syndrome then this game is perfect for you, all jokes set aside this is my next project and again anime related. I was really disappointed to notice that this game went untranslated for this long, you'd think fans of Evangelion would have gotten together and did something about it. Anyhow I have taken it upon myself to do it, it will take a while due to it's length and replayability but I'll get there eventually.

Here is a short video I took while testing out the translation, everything is in progress and may be changed in the future.

And why can't you just make one thread for all of your "projects" exactly?

But this one in particular is indeed a project that's set for success.
As you can see from the video, it's a visual novel with the text part taken care of.
And it's not like there's a lot of fan-translations for visual novels for the DS besides a handful of incomplete ones, AAI2 and Love Plus.

If you haven't already, you may want to hit up Evageeks for assistance with the translation.

Because they are all separate games that require different topics, having one for all would be messy.

Yea I'll hit them up if I run into any problems, thanks for suggesting.

Yea a real bummer alot of good DS only visual novel games haven't been translated, I hope to add more to the list.

I have been working hard on this translation for the past week, getting through a ton of text is really taking it's toll. Below is a short list of what I have been working through recently, I wanted to get through the training options before heading into the story so I haven't played more than 2 weeks ingame. I played through each training option once and translated most of those, around 12 out of  the initial 15 training options are done.

*Introduction Scene
*Training Options
*Entering and exiting text's for shops
*All of the items in the first clothing shop

This may not sound like much but all of this was slightly over 500 images of text, next I'll play the game some more progressing into the story and translate the items available to buy in the shops. I also recorded two video's so check them out, thanks for reading and I hope you support me.

I definitely agree that each game project deserves its own thread.

Now don't get your panties in a bunch over this one, I know that having two topics for the same translation for the same game on two different platforms isn't exactly right. I just think it's better and easier to categorize than having one topic, anyway I plan to translate the Dreamcast version of the Ayanami Raising Project after the DS. It will be much faster that way so you Dreamcast fans will have something new to play in the future. There are a few initial problems I will have to fix but I'll get around to those when I start implementing the translation. The Dreamcast port is not the same as the DS, it's more of a direct port from the PC without Asuka since she was added in the PS2 version. I also want to do this version as I can play it on my big tv with my Dreamcast rather than through a DS emulator. I hope some people will be interested in a Dreamcast translation so thanks for reading and wish me good luck.
Kawai desu.

Not that I really care, but there are rules for this sub-forum.

http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,3507.0.html

Quote4. Do not create an excessive number of topics if you have multiple projects. This hogs up equal opportunity on the topic listings for other people to have their projects and topics viewed. If you have many projects, you'll need to create one topic covering the projects for your group or person.

You now have 4 threads in the personal projects and I would imagine you will create another thread for your next project. Do you consider 4 projects to be a lot? It's certainly more than a few.

Pokeytax

Good luck! Without a great debugger available, I have found assembly hacking on Dreamcast to be arduous. It's possible but not something I would do if any other version of the game exists.

VicVergil

About this specific one, you should have included it with the DS version.
Also, NEVER announce any project unless you have some actual screenshots in English (specifically mentioning that dating-sim on the Saturn).

And well, this is technically the same game as the DS Evangelion game, but you're one of the few persons who ever handled a Dreamcast game (besides Segagaga). See that text cutting off in the end? It looks ugly. Use the control code for a line break (new line) instead of a space just before a problematic line, or at worst use a hyphen (for ex-
ample like this). And good luck :)

Bob Liu

Don't worry, next project I'll make a single thread for all of my translations. I don't understand why I shouldn't be allowed separate ones as it's not like im gonna bump all 4 at the same time. Anyhow here's a progress update.

Progress Update - 30/5/14
Making my way through the story recently, taking down the first three Angel's and a bunch of other stuff. I enjoyed the scene where Rei goes on a school trip and you have to make her lunch, you have three options.  A Tomato omelet, fried chicken with onion rings (Seriously) or salted salmon with french fries,  I had a good laugh at the fried chicken option. That's clearly in there for a joke, you can't really picture Rei chowing down on KFC. The right answer is the tomato omelet because Rei doesn't eat meat or fish.

Progress
3rd - 5th Angel's
More shop items
Park Events
Some minor events
Misc stuff

I encountered Toji "The Bastard" in the park heading to the hospital to visit his sister, him and alot more people. You  can meet Maya and she asks you about a rumor that Lieutenant and Rei are you know..... doing the nasty. Misato also makes suggestive remarks about Lieutenant and Rei, there's alot of that going around in this game. Events from the show do happen such as Rei getting her new Nerv ID card, there are three people who can give her it. Shinji, Gendo or Lieutenant, Gendo delivered it when I played. I wonder if you can snap Shinji's fingers if he does before he does you know what, now that would be awesome.
God I hate this guy
Anyhow all this has been translated so progress is being made, slowly but surely I will get there. Thanks for reading and I hope you guys give me your support.

A question about the game. Why are you referring to this game as "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Raising Project DS"?

while the title says its:

"Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Raising Project with Asuka Supplementing Project DS"

Is it b/c you're only translating Ayanami's story and not Asuka's?

Bob Liu

Couldn't fit the entire title in the topic, it's really long. It's simpler to just call it Ayanami Raising Project (DS) and yea I know Asuka's in this game too but damn these incredibly long title restrictions.

Zynk

I suggest you fix the topic title to disambiguate it with the PC or DC version since its for the DS version.

Or since this a merged topics for NGE games, maybe change it to "Neon Genesis Evangelion Game Translations" or something.

EDIT: Also, I think there is no character limit on the topic thread title.

I don't understand why you said that since it already says DS in the topic title, also I wouldn't have mentioned the title limit if I didn't already try. Notice the how many times read at the top, see how it's sort of cut off. I will create a projects page when I move onto a new project and have a sub category for Evangelion games since I can only have one more topic page with this being my third.
