Final Fantasy Restored definitely seems like an interesting project.

Did you guys fix the bug where if a character kills an enemy and other characters are targeting that enemy, they will hit the empty space where that enemy was? (Note: I read the readme, and if you did, it wasn't mentioned there.)

If so, I might have to actually finish FF1 NES.

Many would argue that isn't a bug, but a challenge feature (why it was an option in the WS and PS1 versions).

It was directly intended, was it not?

How I wish that was at least part of the optional enhancements.

On the bright side, they do implement things that make general gameplay smoother, like buying items in increments of 10 and a B button dash. Also, characters that get poisoned no longer get shuffled to the bottom.

Among many other things. Like Intelligence actually doing something and elemental swords working as intended.

I take it that means it isn't?

Is there another additional hack I could potentially patch over it to add that feature? That's one of the only things that keep me from enjoying FF1 NES (that and the awful translation).

I doubt it. Not even Dragon Warrior could fully implement that feature during the NES days.

As for the awful translation, the patch also vastly improves on that. Lots more details and things make more sense.

Didn't FF3 have auto-re-targeting?
I'd want to see DQ not having that feature has to at least be a design choice. Pretty sure the SFC games still didn't re-target. I didn't play DQ7, and it seems like something that could've been one of S-E's enhancements to DQ8 (like the replaced music and the graphical menus) to make it more palatable to the west.

One thing that would be really cool? Seeing the graphics of the Lich, Medusa, Kraken, and Tiamat edited to look more like their modern counterparts. (From the Wonderswan remake up, the 4 bosses had different poses.)
