We plan on doing both the Saturn and Playstation version.  The games are setup very similar with only dialogue differences and of course differences in how the movies are setup (PSX video vs Cinepak for Saturn).  I just happened to choose the PSX version first just because I'm more familiar with the platform :)

If you need any help on the translation portion let me know as I'm interested in translating this game. (I'm fluent in Japanese).

Hello, if you guys are making multiple language translations as in "English, Spanish, Dutch, etc."
I didn't know we could make proposition in helping the translation going like last one, but, if I can help the project with something, it would be to make English-Spanish translations.
Just my two cents here, to help the project grow.

Cheers.  :)

This game looks awesome, are you guys gonna be translating the anime cutscenes. I had a good laugh watching a few on youtube, nice work so far.

kirkrunner

So stoked you guys are doing this project and even thinking about doing the sega saturn version . I tried playing it on my sega saturn but the language barrier got me good and could never fully enjoy this game, I have wanted to play it in english ever since. Keep up the good work guys keep on rockin.

Bob Liu

Making any progress, also wondering if you've got any images or videos of what you guys have done.

Swarm

Yeah, just a heads up this probably isn't going to happen any more (at least not from me). I felt pretty good about it last year, but a year on it's looking pretty unlikely. I can make excuses about life or work but the truth is I've just lost interest in it and have fallen out of love with video games and Japanese culture in general. I feel bad about making this post after making promises in the OP but I don't want anyone to have any false hope. I encourage any other translators to get in touch with esperknight since most of the tool work is done, and it'd be nice to see it finished one day. Sorry everyone!

Lentfilms

I'm sorry to hear that, about the translation but especially with your fall out with games and Japanese culture. Projects come and go, it happens all the time, but your reasons for ending it sound pretty dramatic. Hope everything is going okay with you Swarm and that you'll come back to both of your loves someday.  :)

CGB-001

It's cool man. If your not feeling it, you ain't feeling it. 8)

esperknight

Sorry to hear that Swarm.  I agree with others though, sorry to see you go but at the same time I'd hate for anyone to work on something they don't enjoy.  Maybe we'll see you come back some day :)  Good luck!

Bob Liu

I thought as much but if the projects dead in the water, then possibly you guys could release what's done and the tools you used. That would be great as I'd like to see how much of the game you actually got translated, as I really hate it when things get cancelled and nothing is released. Anyhow, too bad but I don't blame you if you lost interest because its not like you didn't do anything, a lot must have been done over the years so give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it.

calypsocameo

I Agree with Bob Liu, I'm completely interested in seeing the little progress, this way someone could possibly resume the great job you already did and continue it maybe collectively.
Again I offer myself with my two coins, for any help I could do in the project, though I'm not familiar with romhacking at all, I would be glad to start learning.

If there's no actual tangible progress in the translation, don't worry... there are some things that are meant to be "japanese" and stay like that, and this is a great example of that, and maybe destiny it is and we shouldn't mess around with the translation, though it was really sad news to me that the project got cancelled.

Cheers

Far as the translation, not a whole lot was translated (at least with the version I have).

I have no problem with releasing my tools. Actually here's the stuff to at least extract it.  I don't have the ones for insertion uploaded yet (I forget...) : https://subversion.assembla.com/svn/transprojects/psx/linda_cube_again

Far as the toolkit I put together, I'm going to hold off on it for right now though.  I don't want to let this one to die out either so don't worry I plan on continuing it.  Once it's finished I'll release the full toolkit though.

Bob Liu

That's good to hear, and I hope you soon find a translator to get some work done. Too bad about the overall progress, got an estimate on how much was done, just throw out a percentage or fraction if you know.

Is this project alive? Are you still going to translate it? I would really like to play this game.

Project is alive :)  I got a script update a few days ago that I need to test and make sure the tools are working (well, from a bit of testing, I can say the script is showing up in game fine so far :) )

So yep, still active :)

Yes! My cock is diamonds! You should drop updates on your twitter, though. But, yeah, thank you very much! I'll olay both the PS1 and the Saturn version :3 Also, there is a streamer here http://www.twitch.tv/insomniacgamers12345 that knows Japanese, I talked him into playing the game raw. Here's the VOD http://www.twitch.tv/insomniacgamers12345/v/3914763 he decided to put it off because a blind run is too hard. Maybe you can contact him and he can help you with the translation(that is if you need any help), he may be too busy though.

Wow I thought this was going to be dead but I'm very glad everything is moving forward. This is one of the best RPGs from the ps1 era that the west not got the chance to enjoy.

DSwizzy145

This is actually still continuing? Good! :) i thought you guys completely stopped at first.. can't wait to get my modded Japanese Sega Saturn so that way i could try it out soon!
